Mesa Station Takeovers

Last time I checked there is no United service at Ithaca, Newport News, or Asheville.

Geez...so is this true or isn't it?
Is it United Express that is being discussed or is it USAirways Express?

Good point.

The demarkation between US's affiliate carriers and UA's affiliate carriers is significantly more blurred than it had been.

Dial 1-877-MESA-CEO and listen. It's about 1/2 way through. First he lists the UA station openings as well as new HP stations.

All he says is that they are going INTO these stations in July...and that does NOT mean that they are completely taking over operating the stations from the existing US carrier. Mesa is just putting a few RJ flights into all of these cities. Relax!

I called that hotline 1-800-MESA-CEO and although I heard all of these stations mentioned, I heard nothing of the total takeover of ANY of them.

If any of you hotheads had listened to the message carefully you would have heard Johnny O read off a list of UA stations they were going into (which include BOS, ROC, SYR & CAE, CLT, MCI, DTW, CLE, EWR, BOS in the UA Express network) the lone HP station of MSP then the 4 US Express stations of ITH, BDL, AVL, and Newport News.

But "going into"... meaning flying into them is one thing (they've already spread like a disease throughout the rotting route network), and "taking over operations" is another. Are they going to be providing ground staffing?
