I was thinking that the when the Moller Skycar has to be certified by the FAA the aircraft must be able to fly on half of it's power (ie.2 engines) but on the website they say that it is able to keep flying as long as two engines on the same side don't fail so what is going to happen when they need to certify it?

That is actually a good question. The Moller Skycar is one of those things I hear about, but then it fades from view.

Even a single-engine aircraft (fixed-wing) has the advantage of it's general design to get it safely to the ground (given enough altitude). The same can be said for helicopters. The overall design of the Moller Skycar prevents it “glidingâ€￾like a fixed-wing aircraft, and I am pretty sure that the cowled engines would prevent it reacting like a helicopter.

I believe that the Moller Skycar will be in the same category as the FlareCraft.
