Monkey business in Philly?

If you fly an Airbus and you think that it is not in your job description then you need to hit the books.

I was thinking the same thing, if you are a pilot the whole friggin airplane is your job description even if you are not the one that normally does it. As pilots we are the one that is tasked to make sure it WAS done.

Kinda like saying, fueling is not my job...so screw it lets just go with whatever we have onboard! 🙂

If I need to clean the windows, I don't call someone out to do it, if I see an old lady in a wheelchair in the jetway, I push her ll the way to baggage claim if I have to. If I see that a bag has fallen off the belt loader, I pick it up and give it to the baggage handler. If a gate agent needs to work with a customer, I'll watch the door for her, if an FA needs help gate checking bags, I'll do it.

I did not have to hit the books to do the right thing, Brat.

BC said "When was the last time you went to fly without checking the window? Seems like a non issue if it's something you normally check."

YOU said "It's not in my job description but I do it. "

I guess you figured out your mistake since you did state that it is in your flow.

This whole thread casts our mechanics in a bad light on a public forum. A light they do not deserve! I don't think that was the "right thing to do."

Come on, guys... let's make this a really lengthy speculative thread about who the culprit is. I'll ad to the speculation: It was an American Airlines employee. He did it all on purpose... There....

Speculation?

As long as children who claim to be professionals keep acting up I'll keep sharing the stories. Thanks for the reminder.

Here's the latest from CLT via Tempe.

The 'holes are out to get me!

We pushed back from CLT B-3, started 1, got clearance from ramp to turn right and taxi to spot 2 at E-12 with no restrictions.
I was almost done with the turn and would have been lined up on a line straight west to spot 2, and, wouldn't you know that Flt. 1125, a 737 to IAH, was bearing down on us from the end gates.
I just "knew" they weren't going to give way so I stopped. My nose wheel was on the taxi line by then. I'm not going to sink to their level and play chicken with $100 million aircraft.
Sho' nuf at about B-11 to B-9 they crank a turn into the hard stand area and bee line it to spot 2. Yeah! Good for them! They got in front of us!
I got on the radio as they were screaming through the hard stand and asked what exactly our clearance was and what is it now. She mumbled, went silent, then said to taxi to spot 2. Of course there were many "comments" on ramp freq. about "Westie" and "can't handle it", etc.

F 'em...

What is the proper write-up path so this gets to the Feds?

Keep providing me material, I'll keep reporting the speculation.

Thank God the great west aviators were there to save the day. I can't believe that an aircraft would taxi on a piece of concrete that is sometimes used to park A/C. I guess they are always towed into that area. Can you please tell the author to get back to us and tell us how hard the FAA laughed? More of the "write 'em up, turn 'em in" culture.

CLT ramp control often gives everyone the same clearance and you sometimes have to sort it out yourself. It's been like that for a while. I think that may be the real issue and perhaps an ASAP would have been the best course of action. But as autofixer said......

Yeah, keep posting them EC. Just makes your buddies look like a bunch of whiners.

WILCO Pi.

I refuse to be in the cover-up culture which cost a respected coach his job and penalized a university. If there is is a lesson to be learned, look at Penn St.

That's your problem, Pi, get your head out of the sand or some other dark place.

If I were part of a cover up culture I wouldn't have suggested filing an ASAP, would I? But if you feel it is more productive for your buddy to go running to the FAA (we know how fast they move) and whine a web board, then we will just have to disagree.

I've got a good west story for you, but figured posting in on here was doing the same thing that you are doing and is counterproductive. I was going to PM it to you, but I guess you have it set up to not receive those.

Pi, I've made myself perfectly clear how I feel about this subject. I've agreed with you on many subjects in the past and built some bridges between us.

This time, we are going to have to agree to disagree.

I thought we built some bridges too, but they burned when you questioned me about my motives abut the C18. Just like the above examples it's clear that like many of your west buddies (east too) you cannot separate the seniority fight from everything else. Things like the above happen at every airline. Of course there are childish people on both sides that will pull a stunt, but not everyone is out to get you guys. Especially non-pilots, because I believe 9 out of 10 of them are just sick of hearing about and having to deal with the fallout.

I'm sorry to hear that Pi. I thought it was a valid question whether or not you thought pursuing our pilots with RICO charges was a good idea. You thought it was not a good idea. Wasn't it fair to ask if it was out of compassion or realizing the failed strategy.

I don't think any USAPA supporter can lecture me about this thread when they use a union and my dues money against my brothers and sisters on the West as a hammer.

USAPA is a creation of East pilots. It will go down in history as a failed experiment for disenfranchising, persecution and intimidation of it's membership.

The West did not roll over like you expected. We stood up, organized and fought tyranny.

We will not be intimidated.
