Get a room you two
Not until he gives me an apology, BC.
Get a room you two
Get a room you two
More of the "write 'em up, turn 'em in" culture.
This is how the HPers culture is/was in the passenger service agents rank they could only get raises/shifts if they tattle tale and were the teachers pet
I took it that you might be in maint. I didn't like the implication he made about our mechanics and stuck up for them. Sorry if I offended you.
If I need to clean the windows, I don't call someone out to do it, if I see an old lady in a wheelchair in the jetway, I push her ll the way to baggage claim if I have to. If I see that a bag has fallen off the belt loader, I pick it up and give it to the baggage handler. If a gate agent needs to work with a customer, I'll watch the door for her, if an FA needs help gate checking bags, I'll do it.
I did not have to hit the books to do the right thing, Brat.
Wow. EastCheats..... Are you kidding me. This is a UNION Airline. Mismanagement does not allow you to do someone else's (union employee's job) If I follow your logic, I should help out when needed. Well...... I work at USAirways as an A & P but at my second job I fly A320's. So if you are sick, running late, or on crew rest I should jump in the right seat for you. ( Yea, right seat.... cause a seasoned Capt. would not make this silly comment. ) Just because I am qualified to do your (UNION) job, I won't.
Oh by the way. If you are wondering why mechanics don't like you....... 1992, No support from ALPA.
You dont get it, he is talking about your blatant disregard for the scope language of the other unions on the property who's job you said you would gladly do, that is nothing more than what Jack London wrote about.

I never said anything about USAPA nor ALPA, I clearly pointed out you would stab every other labor union and its members in the back.
Thanks for bringing up the term, "culture", JJ. There is a culture clash of sorts between East and West. I guess it's a norm to cheat as we learned out West. All I have to do is point to key excerpts in what's known as the Bradford Letter. USAPA founder Stephen Bradford went attorney shopping to figure out a way to get out of binding arbitration.
This is a copy of the Bradford Letter which was used as evidence in the Addington trial.
Excerpts from the Bradford Letter:
On Saturday, June 9th in San Francisco I had a conversation regarding our case with Chris Katzenbach of Katzenbach and Khitikan, a labor law firm.
Key Quotes:
"I next specifically asked him about the formation of a new bargaining agent as an avenue of advance to get around this award."
""Could the America West pilots sue us" I asked, "if we pursue this course of action.""
"However, he cautioned, the language you use in setting up your new union and how you go about talking and writing about your solutions to this award can be used against you. You need to stress he positives of the new union and not dwell on the award. Don't give the other side a large body of evidence that the sole reason for the new union is to abrogate an arbitration, the Nicolau award, that in the opinions of most judges, should be allowed to stand due to no gross negligence or fraud."
"The Nicolau award won't die until ALPA dies."
"If there are mergers down the road then the award can come back if ALPA does. Seniority lives in the CBA so you need a new contract to go with the new union to solidify your claims. Can something be put in the contact to protect these claims, I asked."
Respectfully Submitted,

How can it be any clearer? Dumping ALPA was not because of some dissatisfaction with the union. Dumping ALPA was a strategy to cheat a process. The framework and intent is all spelled out in the Bradford Letter.
Yes, as my screen name implies, I feel cheated by a group who used it's majority to disenfranchise me and the pilots of the former America West. It all started with the forming of USAPA, the filing of RICO charges against our pilots and continues today with the overturned election and rerun which cost two West reps their positions on the appeals board. I conclude that the problem is not with the arbitrator or ALPA but rather the pilots who use the tyranny of the majority who may find themselves in the minority after a merger.
In conclusion, if this is a "culture clash" I much prefer the America West culture over the "East" culture based on my experiences thus far.
