Are you serious?DL established post 9/11 that having regularly "purging" of its salaried/merit employee staff is a necessary move in order to be able to regularly weed out the weak performers. This has happened w/ a fair degree of regularity over the past 10 years and it is almost always the weakest employees that are forced out. Strong performers are accommodated somewhere in the company, even if their positions are eliminated. It is not a good thing to guarantee job security to merit employees.
Incidentally, DL does have one of the lowest General and Administrative cost burdens of the US airlines.
generally what that means is simply..weed out the weak performers.

So by saying that, you feel it's wonderful Delta pays it's employee's a lot less then other's. Aren't you a peach.
Nawwwwww, once again you're wrong. FACT: Delta compensates its salaried group so low that they have no clue as how to reach pay parity with the NW salaried employees!Maybe it's because Delta doesn't have as many cheifs as other airlines and not what they pay them, that constitutes the "Lower cost structure" !
Way to look at both sides of the coin though !

I keep hearing over and over that Delta Flight Attendants are paid more than we are at NWA, so I am just confused anymore regarding these lowest costs and who are actually..or basically which ones are paid lower? I sort of think both groups are not compensated as we should be.. taking into consideration the number of planes we are going to be required maintaining qualifications. JMO.that went on to bring the company in-line to have the lowest costs. So don't.
