There's not a snowball's chance that LCC outbids AA for NW. Trust me. B)
trust me, it WILL be northwest airlines.
here is why:
we don't really overlap with them.
we have the same fleet type except for the 747-400&767-200& the 737's. the DC9's are sure to go out the door if and when we merge. we all know the DC-10's are going away. so that leaves us with a fleet of:
747-400
767
757-200/300
737-300/400(might be going away)
A330-200/300
A350(if we ever get them. if not, nw ordered the 787's)
A319/320/321
EMB-190.
the route network would totally work since nw concentrates it's ops to the far east. add that to the exsisting us route network and it fits very well. hubs, you might see something like this. phl/clt/msp/phx. dtw looks good too . the have a nice facility there. remember i said hubs not bases. i am sure they will keep all mentioned above as crew bases as well as lga, bos,&sea. mem ops might be consolidated into clt ops but i could be wrong.
labor , well we all know that the employee group at nw is a bitter one but so were the us labor groups. it can truly work . our pilots share the same union. the f/a just voted in afa. the mechanics i think are iam as well. i am not sure of it but i think they are.
face it , it works . and the govmnt will totally let us merge with nw before they let aa get a hold of nw. why would aa want nw anyway? to screw the nw employees like aa did to twa? at least at airways they will get doh. face it aa, us is making money . we are not the poor bastards we once were . we freaken back wether you guys at aa like it or not . oh did i forget to say that us is making money? oh no i didn't, but i just wanted to emphazize that ..
