More rumors from Tempe

Don't keep your mouth shut etops. There are actually quite a few of us on this board who appreciate your info and are also able to decipher the good info from the bad info and ignor the idiots. My suggestion is to ignor the idiots and keep posting.

Agreed!! Thanks for the info Etops.

i just want to say again and clarify that the person who started this rumor to many people is unreliable but not unreliable to me. although many on this board may not agree with the things he sais . i have met him and i truly value many of his insights about our company. i know i will get flamed for saying this but i really do not care. i am not saying that iagree totally with the things he posts but many things are interesting and make you think . the reason i asked scott was not because i doubted him. it was just because i hate rumors and i wanted to get to the bottom of it. like i said before he may or may not have told me the truth . actually here is the e-mail he sent me:
Q:scott,
there is rumor out there about a possible deal with delta to get 4 of
there south american routes. i know you have said that we have no plans to
fly down there yet... but things change . any truth to this. i hate rumors
so i like to go straight to the source.
take care,

A:I really shouldn't comment on that one but I would say that us just buying
some sa routes would be ludicrous. Leaving phl this afternoon .
I've spent 2 days mostly on the ramp trying to understand our
baggage situation.

Etops1:

Do not let the people who "shoot the messenger" or insult you get you down. You provide a great service to this Forum and provide insight.

In regard to Scott Kirby, I agree with 700UW. Scott cannot provide information on strategic transactions due to SEC guidelines and one key point I saw in his message was "I really shouldn't comment on that one...". My thought is why was he reluctant to comment?

Keep up the good work...I enjoy your posts.

lol DONT FORGET TO DRINK THE SLIMFAST

hey, weren't you the one who slammed me for asking them to bring back the scales to the crew breakrooms? I'm glad you finally see the importance of a fit F/A.

  Someone  read waaaaaaaaaaay too much into a simplistic response. By law he shouldn't respond AT ALL to any question posed to him regarding real or imagined corporate positioning, and he knows that. Or, if you want to dwarf this down to a valid answer, when would now not be a good time to enjoy the contrast between stripes on a government issued uniform and the bars on a government provided cell?

Without repeating what others have said, three letters - SEC.

Now if you want to build the rumors up, you missed Kirby's really intriquing comment....

i saw him yesterday in phl. he has been there since sunday on the ramp working on the baggage situation. he leaves today to phx.

I just worked 3 - 16 hour days on the ramp in PHL never saw a "Kirby"....but then managers don't introduce themselves....they just walk around expecting everyone to know who they are.

Nice to see that Scott Kirby fixed the baggage situation in PHL all by himself and in just 4 days. 😛

I'm sure he didn't pick any up--god forbid, he might break a nail or mess up his hair.

He probably sat in on a meeting with supervisors and managers and heard various descriptions of the "problems". He will take everything into advisement and will get back to them.

Well,

Wouldn't the unions get their undies twisted if he touched a bag?

Maybe he did go there to see for himself---which is unto itself a form of progress.

Not pointing fingers folks, but we all know PHL is broken--the question is can it be fixed?

At least it appears that someone is trying.

Which was, of course, that it would be ludicrous to "just buy some sa routes" from Delta.

Or violate a CBA.

I'm pretty certain he could work on the Express (F) ramp all he wanted to without violating anybody's scope.

How about making him walk through Terminal F'd alone without a doo-rag....better yet, I'd love to see him in a doo-rag.
