What's new

Nancy Pelosi at Her Finest

Fault? What on earth are you talking about? I stated that the fox article was an incomplete version of the original. The original article (if you would even bother to read it) address the short coming of people on your side of the aisle as well.

FOX cherry picked the parts of the article they liked. Not very balanced.
Here are some of the sections missing from the Fox version.
Ahh....dude..its called taken out of context and your fav's do it all the time....

Its common knowledge Bush isn't the saaviest guy on the planet

Tsk Tsk Tsk. Seems you and you Fox friends (Fair and balanced reporting at its bests huh?) missed the rest of the story. You know the part right? The part where Bush was tested on the names of 4 world leaders and he only got 1. The part where some Repub leaders fair no better then the Dems.

If you or your Fox friends (Fair and balanced at it's best huh?) are going to quote things, at least have the decency and honor to quote the entire article and not just cherry pick the stuff that you like.

And you have to wonder why we do not trust any of your sources or anything FOX (Fair and balanced reporting at it's best huh?) say.

So, for those of you who want to see the ENTIRE article that was featured on ABC Night Line last night.

It would seem that a very large number of those who represent us on both sides of the aisle have not got a clue about what it is they we are fighting for much less who it is we are fighting.
Heres a good analogy to explain why FOX is "FAIR AND BALENCED". Picture all of media as a teeter totter, with true nuetrality and fair reporting being the fulcrum, or pivot point. It's no secret that 99 percent of hollywood leans to the left, as well as NPR, New York Times, CNN, and most of Big Media. Put them all on one side of the teeter totter. on the other side of the teeter totter is FOX, Talk Radio, and a handful of libertarien newspapers, such as the Orange County register. If FOX was COMPLETELY neutral in its reporting, they would be sitting right on top of the fulcrum. Any fith grader on the playground will tell you that the teeter totter wont work that way. Now slide FOX down the ideological plank until it balances the teeter totter. The further right FOX goes, the better it offsets the leftist leanings of big media. Eventually, the teeter totter balances. In this way FOX is indeed "Fair", although I think a more accurate description would be "fair and balancING"

Bad analogy! You are saying that CNN, NPR etc... is on the left of the teeter-totter, and that FOX, Talk-radio, etc... is on the right of the teeter-totter. Thus, that makes the teeter-totter the equivalent of Media in general. Thus, by your analogy, all of media would be balanced. I know, however, that you are not trying to say that.

Rather, you are trying to say that Fox is fair balancing. Your analysis could be used for the left too: CNN goes so far left just to balance out the right-leaning ways of FOX. Obviously, using this faulty deduction, it would be absurd to then say that CNN is balancing. But, that is exactly what you are saying about fox. That too, is absurd!

Your kinda sorta halfway on the right track, but still not yet there. No, the media is not "Balanced"...it hasnt been for 40 years. When the upstart FOX news came on the scene, it did, however, move the fulcrum to the right somewhat.
Due to the sheer NUMBERS, removing any particular media outlet on the left will have little effect on the overall picture. The teeter totter still leans to the left. Since FOX, however, is the primary source of conservative news, removing them from the teeter totter would have a much greater effect.
Also, remember the timeline. FOX was added to the picture, and has done so well, simply because the left has had a monopoly on news sources for years. Murdock realised that roughly half the population of this country had no viable voice outside of talk radio. He saw a HUGE market potential, and went with it.
In summation, FOX News provides a news service that aims for roughly half the US population. It is indeed conservative, or at least libertarian, in its presentations. The remaining half of the US splits its viewing between CNN, MSNBC, network news, and Print Media, dominated by the NY Times.(or 'PRAVDA Manhattan, if you prefer)These media sources are indeed leftist, or at least "progressive". Both outlets have strong leanings in there presentation, both have the support of about half the population of the US, and both spin their stories to best represent their particular demographic. The biggest difference is that at least on FOX, 90 percent of their staf will tell you straight up that they are conservative or libertarien. Somehow I dont think we will EVER here any major media personality from Big media admit to being a leftist.

The Dumocraps promise... "A New Direction For America"

The stock market is at a new all-time high and Americas 401K's are back.
A new direction from there means, what?

Unemployment is at 25 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?

Taxes are at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?

Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs.
A new direction from there means, what?

The Federal deficit is down almost 50% over last year, just as
predicted.
A new direction from there means, what?

Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years.
A new direction from there means, what?

Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?

Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01.
A new direction from there means, what?

Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not
surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Qaeda's top
dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel.
A new direction from there means, what?

Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British
Intel, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets
being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate
the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks.
A new direction from there means, what?

Now let me see, do I have this right? I can expect:
The economy to go South
Illegals to go North
Taxes to go Up
Employment to go Down
Terrorism to come In
Tax breaks to go Out
Social Security to "go Away"
Health Care to go the same way gas prices have gone

But what the heck!

I can comfort in knowing that Nancy P, Hillary C, John K, Edward K,
Howard D, Harry R and Obama have worked hard to create a comprehensive
National Security Plan, Health Care Plan, Immigration Reform Plan, Gay
Rights Plan, Same Sex Marriage Plan, Tolerance of Everyone and
Everything Plan, How to Return all Troops to the U. S. in The Next Six
Months Plan, A Get Tough Plan, adapted from the French Plan by the same
name and a How Everyone Can Become as Wealthy as We Are Plan.

I forgot the No More Katrina Storm Plan.

Now I know why I feel good after the elections. I am going to be able
to sleep so much better at nights knowing these dedicated politicians
are thinking of me and my family's welfare. :mf_boff:
