Negotiations Canceled For M&E?

And, I had a question regarding the AA pilots proposal concerning regional flying.....correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe AA mentioned something about AA pilots doing regional flying....am I to believe that the 737, MD-80 and A320 will be used for AE down the road?????? or did I miss something????

My reading of the AA proposal is that all future RJs with more than 50 seats will be flown by mainline APA pilots at the new B scale - dunno for certain if they'd be a separate regional brand or mainline branded. But 737s, MD-80s and A320s woud continue to be mainline not subject to the B scale. A319 and smaller (everything with fewer than 125 seats) would be flown by APA mainline pilots at the new B scale.

Obviously am not a pilot, but can I ask our pilot posters here is this a bad thing flying 50+ seaters..by APA pilots? Or is the B scale issue the sticking point?

Perhaps AA wants to see Timco's results on the 757s.

Quote from the first sentence of the linked article

AMR Corp. (AMR)’s American Airlines and the union for 11,000 mechanics and aircraft technicians agreed to delay the resumption of contract talks until next month.

WHO is the "UNION" that agreed to this? Nobody asked me or my co-workers. But I did see a guy this morning wearing a TWU logo t-shirt with a slogan that said "I AM the Union". Next time I see him I will ask if agreed to this.

"We had been told that the failure to get a pilots' deal in time to present to the AMR board of directors at its Wednesday, Nov. 16, meeting could well set into motion big changes at American Airlines. American hasn't said anything after the meeting; the TWU message is the first indication that such things might happen."

Why the negotiations were canceled for M&E.

The story in your link had the same statement given by the TWU.

"We were notified by the Company earlier this week, that they wanted to postpone the November supposal discussions. They stated this was due to the uncertainty of both where the pilot discussions were, along with the fact that the AMR board is currently reviewing American's strategic position."

Seriously? Better?

We had retiree medical funded by sick time in the July 2010 TA. So getting what we had in the TA is better? We had no change to retiree medical in the extension, sick time funded in the July 2011 TA, and now FSC looks as if the new standard is no retiree medical. You guys kick a**!

I guess you need to realign expectations now that it looks as if the committee can't deliver. That's cool.
Not really, in order to get retiree medical those under 50 had to surrender not only the Prefunding match but also our after tax contributions plus interest, in my case over $13000 for credits that would be at risk in BK. Then on atop of that we would have had to give 20 hours of sick pay for one month of sick time, instead of 11 hours of sick time and we would only get 8 days of sick time to build our bank instead of 12.

In my case I have now given up over $18,000.00 in pay and now I will lose that pre-funded medical that I would have kept.

Better? I struggle to find that.
