Negotiations with Management Continue...
The CWA bargaining team has met each day this week with management in order to possibly reach an agreement that would be acceptable to our members and avoid the abrogation of our contract under 1113c in bankruptcy court.
The company's demands remain directed toward the outsourcing of our reservation, dividend mile service center and Baggage Call Center work, as well as deep salary cuts. Further demands freeze our salaries at the reduced rate for two years and eliminate the snap back of many other benefits, such as sick leave and holiday accrual that were sacrificed in 2002.
Tuesday the CWA Executive Board unanimously voted to authorize a strike of the Passenger Service Workers, or take other work action, clearing the way for our members to conduct such activities should the bankruptcy court abrogate our contract.
Negotiations ended this evening without agreement but both sides agreed to meet again Thursday December 2, to continue efforts to reach an agreement.
The 1113 bankruptcy proceedings begin December 2, at 9:30 a.m. in Alexandria, VA.
We will keep you advised as events unfold this week.

They may have a TA , but whether members approve the TA or not will be the big question.
