hi, is there a copy of the latest ( after last bankrruptcy) contract between the iam and usairways posted in the internet?

any help will be appreciated.

amt4u.

most other unions do list there stuff on the web...in fact the teamsters one for AWA is available.....teamsters 145 or 143 or something like that....

You folks slay me at times. A copy of the U IAM contract after the 1st Chapter 11 has never been available for public view...this has been cussed and discussed a million times....even if few agree as to why this is so.

Going forward ...This deal has just closed between U and HP...and a single carrier status has not been achieved....this will likely take months or up to a year to achieve.

With the above statement being fact....we will operate under our seperate and current contrats with both the IAM and IBT.

The NMB and the votes of both parties will influence a combined agreement in the future....and today was just the first day of what will be a long running process. The combined company will also try to hand pick what works for it too within the two seperate contracts.

Thankfully to God....we do not have any architects of this future in this thread as most clearly do not grasp the dynamics of what is just now begining to unfold.

I do not entirely exclude myself in the above comment.

Please keep in mind that both companies pilots and Flight attendants are represented by ALPA and the AFA respectively....and they have miles to go before full intergration becomes settled....read some F/A or Pilot threads and see where they have issues on the subject.

The Mechanics and related having two seperate Unions representing them..with two distinct differences in the level of work covered only makes this more complicated.

There was a complete contract given to everyone after the first chapter 11, the previous CBA is in effect except where the final offer modified it.

The modifications were sent each station and given to everyone's and is on the district lodge 142 web page.

There were modifications to the original contract, thus creating a new one!!! I don't care if an "or" was changed to an "and", its new and we were supposed to be give a copy of the "new" contract and not one of the now famous highlight sheets!!! Way to many ???? marks, this guy would like to see in in a single book!!!

The company is responsible for printing the contracts that is why it takes so long as they dont want to spend the money.

You are 100% correct with that statement!!! Another violation of the now famous contract!!! It been almost a year and still no copy? But it is smart business by the company, every day the number of required copies gets less and less!!!

SO WHY WOULDN'T WE RATHER BE IBT WHERE WE COULD EARN A UNION RETIREMENT AS OPPOSED TO NO FURTHER GAINS WITH OUR COMPANY RETIREMENT AND NOTHING OFFERED BY IAM? AND WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF US FROM THE OLD PSA WHO WERE IBT AND ARE ALREADY VESTED WITH THAT UNION? PERHAPS IT HAS BEEN DECIDED BY THE COURTS THAT WE MUST KEEP IAM? DON'T WE ALL GET TO VOTE? AND WHAT ABOUT SOME OF US WHO ONCE WORKED FOR US AND NOW WORK FOR HP AND NOW WE'RE UNDER US AGAIN? AND THERE ARE A FEW OF US WHO HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR BOTH AIRLINES AT THE SAME TIME AND MAY HAVE TO GIVE UP OUR SECOND JOB 'CUZ THE NEW BOSSES WILL NEVER LET US WORK 80 HOURS A WEEK!

Maybe we need to distance ourselves from clowns whom just pop-up on the internet...whom have nothing else to do but stir the pot.

All CAPS....All Crap. You have shown your level of knowledge of things in one post.

For anyone interested:

All IAM members have the option to sign a Teamsters Union Authorization Card if they want to try and have a vote on which union will represent US going forward.

To have the NRLB call for a vote, 35% of all eligible members (HP/US) must sign cards. If less than 35% sign up, then it will stay with IAM. If more than 35% sign cards, then it will go to the membership for a vote of which union they want representing them.

If you want to sign an IBT Card, go to www.teamsterslocal104.org

On the homepage there, go to FORMS, then open Teamsters Union Authorization Card. You can print it out and mail it in.

Also on homepage is a position statement "9-12-05 Read Teamsters Union Position..." on merger. 😛
