I saw a Delta crew the other day in TPA. I was going to ask them one of them had 777 trip paing sheet. Now that would have been funny.

Yeah I guess we HAVE to be the better person. As if Delta would give YOU DOH...Not in a zillion years baby. I am ALLLLL for DOH but they and there are MANY are jerks. So how many times is acceptable for Delta to give US the proverbial "finger" in terms of AFA before we say enough is enough? They don't want AFA representation? OK then! Why should they get the benefits of our bylaws with DOH? I say one more chance and it's game on!

Because there are more of them than there are of HP/US, and thus the DL group could decertify the union. Then you all become at-will employees.

For this reason, AFA international will insist on DOH, because they don't want to risk losing their hypothetical largest airline.

From what I heard, almost half wanted AFA. Therefore, adding East/West to the mix would throw it over half and AFA isn't going anywhere.

No DOH for them, some sort of slotted entry will work just fine. Otherwise, why would any carrier ever vote to be AFA? No current junior person on either side should lose their job in this acquisition

Because it is the right thing to do. Lotsa USAir "tough guys" here now. Probably would not be saying that if we "merged" with AA when we were on deaths door 1.5 years ago...... Relax.

Do you really believe the minority that wanted AFA are going to vote to slit their own throats if anything but DOH is put on the table? Highly unlikely.

They still don't want US, but AFA will offer DOH. Take it to the bank. Pat Friend is not going to see the proverbial largest airline (a LCC/DL combination) out of AFA--which is exactly what will happen in the event that the LCC folks offer anything but DOH.
