You are comparing Tempe to Apple? Dude, you have to lay-off the Kool Aide! Those Apple "Nerds" as you call them, had two things, 1) a plan and 2) brains. Tempe has neither.

No koolaid here. I guess you have a difficult time reading. I was saying to give Lumexis a chance, DUDE!! Typical running off of the mouth without reading from a typical US hater and basher!

🙄 <_< Absolutely- however I think what most are saying is that historically US mgmt - new and OLD has made VERY poor decisions regarding technology, innovationand for that matter service in general. It's easy to be a nay sayer when historically US is a cluster of mistakes - over and over again. U guys just can't seem to get it right. The list is too lengthy to mention- it would take days ( seriously ).

US needs new upper mgmt that is innovative, forward thinking and with a vision. Instead it's business as usual- reactive vs. proactive.

CCY was an early adopter of AVOD technology. Unfortunately, the P@ssport system is a dinosaur by today's standards.

Yes that's true. However, that was a BRIEF period of time in the company's hx. It was Wolfe and Gangwal period - they were forw, innovative,and a CLASS ACT. Unfortunately the had no plan B. When the UAL thing fizzled they dropped the ball and things went downhill from there. I believe, as many others do, that if they had stayed the course US would be another Continental. SOOO much potential, sUCh BAD mgmt- plain and simple.

Agreed. However, while the boxes may be smaller, I think they would still be there.

My concern would be with the Fios cabling, which is not known to have a robust feature set.
 
Delta has a similar system already. It has its problems. I think theirs may be panasonic. But it is cool, swipe your credit card at the seat and you are ready to go. Of course the tv is free but you pay for movies and HBO. Entertainment in the skies is the new way to attract cusotmers. Also Delta just announced wireless internet on all domestic flights by summer 09.

Fiber Optics in the coach area is fragile. As many people know, Fiber Optic Cable is very fragile and vulnerable. It is the best for quality, but I a just curious on how the installation will go for each unit. Then maintenance changing broken seats around. I will say this, if its done properly, it will be awesome. Lets hope they go by the installers directions.
 
One thing Doug said way back when was that by the time you select a system get it installed it is almost obsolete because the Technology changes so fast. No if this is primarily a delivery infstructure that could be used for almost anything that eliminates a lot of that concern. Also, AWA was about to get the Direct TV and then Jet Blue bought the company could US maybe be looking at doing something similar?
