Perhaps, but more likely are the multi-hour delays at LHR due to banning all carryon items (except money, passports, tickets, etc). Each city has multiple LHR flights, and many pax are unwilling to fly if they have to check their laptops, cameras, etc.

It wasn't one specific liquid that would be carried on the aircraft to be detonated. It was two or more liquids, possible disguised as hair gel, and two or more terrorists/passengers would actually join the two liquids while the aircraft ws in flight..

Nope. According to Hotard, the three morning flights to LHR were canceled because of delays at LHR:

American canceled three London-bound morning flights from Chicago, Boston and New York to accommodate delays at London's Heathrow airport, spokesman John Hotard said. To balance the cancellations, the airline also dropped three afternoon or evening flights from London to U.S. cities, Hotard said.

The remaining 13 flights in each direction were expected to run from 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours late. The cancellations were due to scheduling delays and not because of direct threats to the flights, Hotard said.

LHR was closed almost eight hours ago to all incoming flights that had not yet taken off. That canceled the 3 daytime departures. Dunno if that restriction is still in effect.

Right on!!! Our family has been saying this for years. But just look into the top people at the airlines and what they have done to the everyday employee. Some of the winners/past winners are Carty, Steenland, and the ex US Airways people. I don't think they care.

Miami has flt 57 from LHR about 5 hours late. BA cxld one flight and the other is several hours late. Virgin is also about 5 hours late arriving Miami. Looks like the rest of the airport and departures are on schedule.

TSA made me throw away my milk and coffee creamer before going thru security this morning at DFW. A couple of flight attendants in front of me were told they would have to throw away everything they had that was liquid or gel,etc.. One of the FA's had a expensive bottle of perfume in her bag and said you can kiss my ass if you think im going to throw this in the trash. A lot of employees had to throw a lot of stuff away, whether it was sealed up or not. A lot of hot tempers this morning, I know DFW DPS was busy just handling employees.

Could be. I just think it was an operational decision to cancel. I just got back from lhr. The crews working the cancelled flights are working flights home to the states that were supposed to be worked by FAs whose outbound flights from the states were cancelled.

The flight loads were fairly light because of all the connecting flight cancellations into heathrow. AA probably just looked at a good excuse to cancel empty flights.

No carry on baggage was weird. We boarded with the overhead bins closed. Passengers had clear plastic bags. No water so everyone wanted some.

Most passengers were cool. When we were delayed a zillion hours they started b*tching about how much we stink. How dare we delay them, inconvenience them, etc.

The only people who really took the threat seriously were the crewmembers, ground people, and security. Kind of sad.
