What's new

Nobody Would Miss Them.....!

No question about it - even after several rounds of RIF's in the last few years, AA still has too much management headcount in several areas. A lot of these people add zero value. None. Nada. Zip.

I just posted on that today also. I won't give up another penny without them clearing all that crap we call middle management and supervisors.
These past few months when I have nedded help from the frontline idiots, that is basically what I have gotten idiots!
What a waste of money!

I couldn't agree more. Of course I also think AA, could do without a lot more unionized personnel as well. I don't think upper management is stupid but they are soft.

AAStew, I have no idea what kind of help you were looking for, but realize this, a level 3 CSM or level 4 supervisor has little to no decision making power at all. What you were asking just may not have been possible. Those frontline managers are as jaded about unions as you are about management, too. The result is that few are really willing to tell it how it is which results in you not knowing the truth and added frustration. Very few are actually "stupid".

Oneflyer........I couldn't agree more! Most of the people that use this website continually gripe about the unions that represent them! I think that this industry would be a much more enjoyable place to work in if it was not so union-orientated.

Delta is waiting for you with open arms.

UNION YES!!!

I will tell you exactly what I needed my supervisor for. I had a heart condition and was having trouble with the fmla coordinator classifying things wrong! (this is my first thing). Both of these management (low on the totem pole as they may be)knew nothing! In fact I was placed on 1st advisory because of my sick calls during my illness!
The other thing I needed her help with was a mistake in the bid run last month, she had no idea what to do! I ended up calling the union and they took care of it.
Next thing is she calls me while I am on vacation saying that I must clear AA medical for this heart condition or I can't return to flying. Needless to say I had already cleared a couple of months ago. But she had just received the message njune 25th and hot around to calling me July 8th.
Am I a bit angry, hell yes! Why am I giving up my pay for these useless idiots to be in asupervisory role when they don't know their heads from their arseholes!
I will not give up another penny! I would rather quit! But then again I would not give AA the pleasure as that is exactly what they want us to do!

I will not give up one penny more untill the company stops using f/a's for special assignment! What is up with that! These are f/a's that get out of working weekends and reserve flying. This should not be allowed.
Look around your bases, and you will see how many f/a's they are using every month! American is so quick to cut the unionised work force, but so slow to eliminate middle management.

Don't you all realize that management took the biggest headcount cut last year than any other work group in the company!!! Sorry, but no sympathy from me here for you union folk

Actually, on a percentage basis, AA has eliminated more management positions than any other work group.

That being said AA has too many rules & regulations. The company needs to get together with the unions and simplify workrules imposed by both the company and union contracts. Eliminating work rules will eliminate the need for so many supervisors. The main reason for all the supervisors is to enforce the mirad of rules.

Its funny though, you talk eliminating one union job everyone goes nuts, but yet the same people claim that there is too much management personnel. You can't have it both ways.

Maybe you should count your strokes instead of siding with the greedy company management.

Remeber keep your head down and follow through. 😉

Oneflyer,
\You are right there are too many work rules, and yes I am complaining about excess management. But according to the newspaper article even other airlines are saying we are too top heavy.
As for getting rid of flight attendants, you can't! The FAA still requires a minimum of one warm breathing body per 50 seats. Until AA can figure out a way to clone us as robots, they are stuck with us. But those middle management people are absolutely not necessary!

Let me see if I understand your comment correctly:

Non-union = golf-playing slacker

Does that sum it up?

Michael,

Please show me at what point I said as you call him/her "golf playing slackers" are non-union?

I could careless what this person does on their own time, but if they side with management they do have problems.

I'm a golf hacker, but I'm UNION!
