What can pilots do to reduce the incredible amount of noise pollution generated by their planes? It's to the point in this country where there is so much overhead traffic, that half the time you are outside your house you'll be subjected to engine and prop noise. This is fine if you love planes and the noise they generate, but for the bulk of the general public it is annoying. One small plane flying over a city results in 10's or even 100's of thousands of people having their peace and quiet disturbed. Trying to hike in the woods and listen to the wind and the birds has become impossible... too much noise from planes... How can this serious problem be addressed?

🙄

In cerain areas the airport(or owner) soundproofs the homes of those affected. Other solutions have been to build concrete walls near homes that are affected. Hearing military aircraft(F-15, F-16s, A-10s, etc.) take off are truly blairing.

Aside from grounding the planes there is NOTHING that PILOTS can do to reduce noise pollution. You probably got a great deal on your house because it is near an airport. Your taxes may be lower than most. If you don't want to move see if there are any programs through the airport, the military, the owner of the airport, that can ease the noise.

Or move

I don't think pilots can do anything about the noise pollution..

maybe the makers of the planes should think or invent a plane with less noise to avoid it..

but, just like signals said.. you have to take the risk if you don't want to move and look for a more quiet community..
