I bought a few non-rev upgrade passes a couple years ago. Is it true these are non-refundable?

From the HUB
You or your Guest Pass travelers (age 12 and older) are eligible to purchase First/Envoy Class Upgrade coupons at $20 per segment ($100 per segment for Europe and Hawaii). These upgrades must be purchased
in advance of intended use, at an Airport Ticket Counter or City Ticket Office and are good for up to three (3) years from the purchase date. You can refund $100 upgrade coupons if unused and not needed, at US Airways Revenue Accounting Refunds – co-mail RWE-REF or US Mail to 4000 E. Sky Harbor Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85035. Note that $20 upgrade coupons are non-refundable.

I don't know what the policy is now, but I do know we still accept the hand written old east ones for upgrades. Or at least I do and accounting has never slapped me down for it. I think they are refundable a year from purchase on the new policy but I doubt HP will authorize a refund for your handwritten east one. Bring me a Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks and I'll put you up front every time you come to my gate, which should save you a few dollars.

----------------------------just clip here and bring to the gate ------------------------------------

Oh, and before the "Shannon Is Posting Bad Things again" SWAT team gets unleashed on me (again), I would like to point out that I am joking about the Starbucks/Free Upgrade thing. You don't have to actually clip the coupon just bring the coffee. HAHA!! I'm kidding again.

remember, cinnamon dolce latte..not the nonfat, I like the hard core kind. winky wink.

Oh lord, my ears are burning, FINE, I'm kidding, there are NO FREE UPGRADES FOR NONREVS GOING OUT OF MY GATE!!!

(meet me at the gate across from me)

$20 domestic non-rev upgrades are not refundable. They remain valid for 3 years from the date of purchase for future use. Dumb I know, but please don't shoot the messenger.
$100 transatlantic non-rev upgrades are fully refundable.

So what is my best recourse? Would it be right to sell these to someone at $10 each? Or just give them away? I have no use for them now.

Um, we have to pay to upgrade? When did that happen? J/K I do not take upgrades if I know the person, or your really nice to me.

When I bought them, I remember the gate agent said anyone could use them. Under passenger name it says "NRSA"
As long as there isn't a name on them, anyone can use them. If they have your name on them, its really up to the agent at the gate and you never know who you're going to get and what they are going to do. Last time I used one to upgrade the lady inspected my pants and shoes, to make sure I was dressed appropriately. I swear it felt like I was being checked into prison minus the cavity search.

I was under the impression you could take them to special services and they could reissue them with a new expiration date. That was the way I handled this situation years ago. Gate agents? Is this true?

The credit card number is imprinted on these. It is an expired card, but none the less... would there be a problem with putting a black marker through the number before giving these away?
