What's new

Northwest In Bk

Folks,

Now that US Airways BK business model has infected your airline...what do you guys plan to do?

Acquiesce?

You've got Neil Cohen as your CFO. KNow where he came from??? USAirways.

He put us in BK twice before he left town with Siegel with millions in his pocket in April 2003. Then he went over to your airline to envoke the exact same business BK model that is here at USAirways.

With all the BK (2) Concessions (3) in 2 1/2 years theONLY plan in town for USAirways was a merger with AWA and that wasn't even using either of their own money, which none of them had. Job losses were 24,000, outsourced work, deception, psychological warfare to get labor to their knees in BK. A trained money could take a co. into BK. You need to contact your politicians and take your plight to the HILL. Your managment won't be happy until your unhappy.

US Airways would ave been history after BK#2 if it wasn't for the gov allowing us to use the ATSB tax payer money to operate on.

This industry is upside down, and I am telling you folks to keep the employees plight in the media full blown.

That is the only leverage you will have to put pressure on your management and BOD.

There is a race to the bottom in labor costs, and your CEO is no different than any other corporat "lorenzo-type" mongrul.

There is a war going on with Labor. There will be no competing when all legacies will have to go into BK and their will be no profits during this race to the bottom.

Your managment will start hiring some new union busters "Ford And Harrison" will be at your table. Stay strong, keep it in the media and public.

Give them HELL!

I would just like to say best of luck to everyone and I know how you feel. I am with U and have been through 2 BK's so far and furloughed. Good luck to all!

Would a strike had made any difference?

Pitbull,

We already know COHEN.. He was here at NWA several years before he was at Usair.
He just left NW (collected his severance pay)
went to Southwest, left( collected his severance pay).
Went to USair, left( collected his severance pay)

He gets $400,000 salary, $500,000 sign on bonus. And if he sticks around 4 years, gets double his salary in..you guessed it "SEVERANCE pay".

Saturday,

You also have his "side kick" Dave Davis.

Labor needs to stand together. Its a race to the bottom in labor costs. Your co. will try to go lower than US Airways contracts.

DL has no unions other than ALPA, who are push overs. DL has no gage. They will set their own.

Executives don't care about employee morale. They are focused on keeping themselves employed to collect the $10-20,000 pay check per month and they have the BK judge that will give them everything to protect the creditors. The judge will be your hammer.

My advice while we wait for the "dead beat" Repubican Congress to get a clue and re-regulate, is to get your union reps to keep talking this up in the newspaper. Your union leaders need to spout off BIG.

Believe it or not, U labor was successful in bad mouthing the Execs so much that the public felt sorry for Labor and most of the Execs did not get jobs with AWA.

AFA f/as worked two programs in concession #3. Its the ratified agreement of 2004 and will be out on our website sometime in Oct. www.afausairways.org

Make sure your reps pull this up.

Don't let your company bring the wages lower than ours. Our amendable date is Dec. 2011.

The Corporate execs still have this misconception that saving an airline depnds on labor costs. It doesn't!

It is soley dependent on the product delivery, pricing, and operation. But they are going to try and convince you that you are worthless and the psychological warfare is about to begin with your groups.

Be proactive; not reactive. Picket the hell out of them in every base. And demand Cohen's resignation.

This is a nightmare folks, one that we just can't wake up from.

It seems to me that if everyone knew this guys MO all the unions would strike together as soon as a company even considered hiring him. PITbull is right about being pro-active rather than re-active. Your unions seem to jump on the ball after it has rolled out of bounds. I would also consider re-electing some new officials.

Well DL's mgmt may not care about employee morale, may be if they experience a meltdown just like US Air did last Christmas, may be that will send a message especially if the melt down is worse than the US Air was. Good Luck to all of you fine Employees of Delta!

bto/pto,

The life of a SCAB is based on being "re-active". You are nothing short of a scavenger. A totally useless bottom feeder.

What bothers you the most, is that nw has beaten the Mechanics over their heads, with a proverbial club. Though bleeding, they are still standing strong !!!!

You are a SCAB, and always will be.

You are indeed wrong Saturday every job I take is mathematically calculated and all avenues of pros and cons are checked. I will admit that I did miscalculate AMFA's ignorance and arrogance. This strike should have never taken place.

bto/pto,

You take pride at drifting from one job to another? Loser !
Obviously not one of your former ( or current) employers felt that you are that hot a commodity, to give you the illusive contract that will keep your "talent".

Strike? It was forced. And after all the proof that management planned this, way in advance, you still keep vomiting your same venom.

Your employment at nw is a RE-ACTION, as to what is happening between magement and Labor. They were desperate. And you just fit their bill of low-life SCAB, who cares little about anything except himself.

You have been repeating your mantra for so long, trying to convince yourself.
Just think back, Not one person on this Forum likes you. You even changed your
name. And that did not help. Because eveyone saw right through you.

One thing that will never change though, is that you are a SCAB and always will be. That was your worst miscalculation. Something that you never counted on !
