NTSB to reopen 1967 PI collision nr AVL

Perhaps is truth _is_ important! Even more than money.

Get a life and quit assuming everyone is as greedy as you.

Hey, history is on my side dude. Look at all the litigation rightful AND bogus that is pending at any one time.

It's rarely about truth these days. More often it's a buck.

ps got a life...where's yours.

the 727 delta that crashed at DFW in 1988 was it an ex PI or an ex NE yellowbird?

Just off the top of my head I seem to recall that it was an ex-Western bird, but let me go check....
....no, it was N473DL, a -232. One of the first -200s they got new from Boeing, in 1973.
I thought it had been ex-WA because it was on a DFW-SLC flight when it crashed on takeoff.

Actually, 1639 was the first -200 which began the production line as a -100..
No, DL never bought any 727's from PI, and all of the former NE 200's were sold to PI in the early 80's.
The former NE 200's that were sold to PI were from
N1639 to N1649 if I recall, and I think that 1639 was the first -200 built.
DL also sold some 200's to PE, but they were ones that DL took delivery of new...

I do know that the front end crew were formerly NE....

To add a bit more to all of this 727 trivia, US Air had the last passenger version of the 727-200 built at the same time they had N1639 following the PI merger. The last 727-200 built was delivered to FedEx, and still flys today......
I can still remember seeing traces of the yellow paint on
A/C 1639-1649 on the belly from the NE paint scheme....
