Since none of the other unions on the NW property will join the AMFA picket line, we will soon find out if the trade union philosophy of "strenghth in skill" is effective. This will be a pure undiluted test of this theory of unionism. At EAL, the industrial union theory of "strength in numbers" was a pure and undiluted test of that theory in battle; all the unions walked out there and EAL eventually died. If NW can operate its full schedule consistantly and without any maintanence mishaps, then this theory will lose credibility. However, if they can't consistantly maintain their schedule and have maintanence problems; or if they didn't plan good enough; the "strength in skill" theory will have just as much merit as "strength in numbers". One thing is for sure, the NW AMTs will join the ranks of the EAL people in terms of having the will to fight.

If the reported company offers are true, doesn't seem like a tough decision on whether to fight or not. 50% furlough!

🙁 🙁 🙁 I never try tosecond guess any ones decision, BUT im very , VERY saddened by the pilots and f/a unions of NW not going out , at least for one day, on a sympathy strike. Mgmt needs to learn a lesson from all UNIONS, and yet today is an example- whats the DAMN point of having one!!! Wish i could hear an explanation from ALPA and PFAA as to their reasons to" cross the picket lines"! Please, PLEASE can someone enlighten?

Well we should not jump to judgement. Things may change, but perhaps thats what management wants.
