Obama healthcare shows it's true colors. My contract-No raise, but a quadruppel raise in insurance payment. Yeah, pay no attention to the socialist prez!

We had guys in our engine shop from GE or P&W, I think it was, and they had locations around the country....some were union some weren't. They paid the non's a quarter less w/ same bennies pretty much. Everybody was happy.

NO! It has to do with the way the Moron in Chief views the world and his policies. Hugo Chavez just said his preference for President was Obama. That should tell any human being capable of fogging a mirror just what philosophy is dominating the White House.

The lack of sound money since 1913 has resulted in the USD losing 95% of it's value. This causes commodity inflation and YOU and I, the workers who built this nation pay and pay and pay while turds like Obama feed the Banksters.
 
Your train of thought implies that insurance costs only started increasing in '08... They've been on the upswing a lot longer than that.

Regradless of how you feel about Obama, the fact remains that if Signal's T/A included a 4x increase in premiums one of 2 things occurred:

1. His premiums are really really low currently (he didn't mention what they were/what they'll be), and this is a relative increase.

2. They were in line with the rest of America, and his negotiating committee either traded the increase for something else, or did a complete faceplant.

If you have a union contract and your company pays the full premium then I guess that would mean Obama can take the credit. Of course not. All it means is that you negotiating committe did a good job for. Obama had nothing to do with it.

That rant still does not change the fact that if there were no unions in the airline business people working for them would be making a lot less than what they are.

The currency manipulation under Obama and Bernanke had nothing to do with the cost of the group policy? Apparently basic economics escapes you.

When you print money out of thin air you devalue it causing prices to rise. In this case Insurance premiums. A dramatic rise in premiums would alter the negotiating landscape.

That would be up for debate. Workers have lost a lot even with corporate unions.

Please tell me what that has to do with the negotiation health insurance premiums by a union.
 
Nothing. He just loves using words like 'currency manipulation' and 'fiat' in sentences.

Oh I don't know.

If you have commodity inflation due to currency manipulation (Think QE1 & QE2) and the same coverage from the last contract now costs 35% to 50% MORE, Would that not effect the terms & conditions of a contract being negotiated?

It's just like the rise in gasoline prices. When you devalue the currency things cost more. The real reason for the rise has little to do with Obama and everything to do with Ben Bernanke & the management of the currency. By my calculations about $1.00 of the current price of gas is due to Fed policy and the remaining difference due to free market supply & demand issues. The recent drop from $3.89 to around 3.50 was the speculation correction.

The point is we as workers union and non union are at the mercy of the Central Banks and their allies the Banksters and their political lackeys who do their bidding.
