Old Airline Logo?

During the early 1970's I remember going to O'hare to pick up my grandmother from Germany. I recall a european airline with a logo that resembled maybe half mammal with a curled tail of a sea creature. Does anyone remember what airline it is..or was...It's driving me nuts....thanks
 
I believe the logo you are talking about belonged to Iran Air. It sort of resembled that of a seahorse...

But the Iran Air logo (which is still in use) does not have the "curled tail" the original poster noted. I think he is recalling the pre-1975 Air France colors, which did include a winged "sea horse"-type creature with a curled tail.

I found it on aerosite.net thanks for the help everyone...it was Air France
