What say you to the oil shale fields being larger yet here in the US?

Dell, here are you answers...

1.) Brief overview...

2.) Shale, Hard to get production flows, expensive...

It is going to be extremly hard to get the "flows" of condensuate liquid (OIL), that the world needs, and the Shale, might be "part" of the solution, but very hard to provide the "flows" needed. We are to late to the party, we needed to have started 30 years ago- It will be a rough ride, for all of us.... 🙁

Here’s an interesting report published by the U.S. Department of the Interior Minerals Management Service. This report, sent to the U.S. Congress as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 – Section 357, is titled “Comprehensive Inventory of U.S. OCS Oil and Natural Gas Resourcesâ€￾. It’s a long read, but it may help shed some light on the amount of untapped energy resources available right here in the US.

Maybe the shortage of refined product wouldn't be as bad if U.S. oil companies were not exporting refined petroleum products. In fact, they have increased exports to other countries from last year to this year.

"The 1.6 million barrels a day in record petroleum exports represented 9 percent of total U.S. refining capacity of 17.6 million barrels a day.
The exports were also equal to half the 3.2 million barrels of gasoline, diesel fuel and other petroleum products the United States imported each day over the 4-month period.

It would be best to "read" the entire article, instead of just a paragraph. I am sure there are reasons why the U.S. is exporting "refined" products. Just like there is a requirement under NAFTA, that forces CANADA, to sell their OIL to the U.S. 🙁

I did read the entire article. That is why I posted the link; so, others could read the entire article. But, then I forget that you Doomsday Conspiracy Theorists don't like to be confused with facts once your mind is made up.

Please do not confuse facts, with a Domsday Conspiracy. You can't change the Facts, and the Facts speak for themselves. Many people are ignorant, and ignorance is bliss. If most people could have put down the remote. They would have seen $5.00 gas, coming Five years ago. Now they scream the govt. about speculators & Oil Companies gouging. They don't understand the /basic/ supply/demand fundamentals- But they soon will...
