I haven't flown into PHL in a couple of years. Has there been a noticeable improvement in the departure area? Is the baggage system better? Are there more (and more operating) tugs and loaders? Are the break rooms refurbished?

Well, if you read the Philadelphia Inquirer and listen to KYW 1060 you would certainly believe it is. There is a real push by Tempe to get the word out in Philadelphia that things are better. They have people on the radio saying, "It only took 20 minutes for my bag to arrive".

I have seen improvements. There are still ridiculous delays with bags every now and then which is much more infrequent than before. I find most of the people to be nicer as well.

PHX is worse than Philadelphia in my opinion. I have found the majority of ticket agents to be rude (and when they aren't, they are VERY VERY NICE). Not a lot of middle ground in my opinion. I find the bags to be delayed as well. Lines are ridiculous for ticketing and half of the people working there don't know which line you should be standing in, yet, they will BARK at you telling you stand somewhere you ultimately find out you shouldn't be standing.

Yes, much better. Departure areas painted/new seats, baggage is getting better, more equipment, and the ramp/agent people do an amazing job, considering the facility they have to work with. Can't speak for break rooms, but I know we are receiving a brand new crew lounge in the coming months. I am a FA, and have seen incredible improvements in the past months. Ground people there are doing a great job. 🙂

Actually, it has greatly improved. Where I see service going down hill is DCA and PIT. I am talking from a pilots view. These last two months we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes for parkers and jetway drivers in DCA and PIT. PHL has gotten better.

The PHL airport terminal and operation has improved greatly from what I can see. The gate areas are clean and they FINALLY fixed that area down at the end of C-con by gates 27-31. I HATED that old wall that was up when the podium was there. We are getting a new crew room which is great news. All that being said, you still find the airport in the same location which doesn't help delays. That will ALWAYS be even if you had the PIT terminal there.

All of us here should pray to God/Vishnu/Buddha/Allah/Satan/Xenu  that the Capacity enhancement program delivers us from the cramped airport that is PHL. Everyone here should support alternative C.

Philadelphia deserves a much better airport and we should see that our voices are heard.

Alternative C looks great. I am assuming that it would be fought long and hard by area residents tho, right?

Still the worst place to work.

$600,000 breakroom renovation was paint and a couple new chairs/picnic tables.

The new hires are HORRIBLE... no work ethic at all! Lots of new "Managers" who do NOTHING when people flat out don't show up for their assigned flights.
Cops came in an arrested 3 new hires for arned robbery last week.
They use the tugs and beltloaders like bumper cars. One MANAGER said "watch out when that new hire drives.....she's unsafe." But nothing is done about it.
Others REFUSE to get in the belly of an aircraft...."The bags are too heavy"..."I'm too fat to get in there"...."it's too hot/cold"..."when's my break?"
You wouldn't belive it.

I just wanna put in 8 hours and get home in one piece.
Wish me luck.

Yea , but the company will continue to fabricate the truth about PHL and there will still be many, many company cheerleaders that will believe anything that is said when it comes to what is known as the PHL debacle.........and how it is the cream of the crop.......

Not cheerleading at all; the operation in PHL has improved a lot! Nice job!

Kirby even admits that "below the wing" there are still big problems. No checklists and accountability for peoples actions and duties. They can't even keep control of where everyone is. As a f/a walking throught the airport or sitting on the plane looking out the window at the bags being loaded it looks great. What the situation honestly is is a different story. Appearance has been improved though thanks to white paint.
