Philly Customs

Probably walked across the line before being summoned.
Doh.
I heard a member of the fligt deck was told to wait there for a second while and officer walked away to do something. The flight deck member stamped his own form and mved on
. I just heard this.... don't know if its true. Also heard a f/a was in a hurry to make her connection so another f/a gave the other f/a her crew pass..... to use...

Stamping one's own form? I'm certain that would have landed said crew member in jail for a night or two, with loss of passport (and therefore loss of job.) I am reluctant to believe that one happened, since everyone would already know who the culprit was.

But the second scenario is plausible. I have noticed that the Customs Officers that collect the Global Entry forms are now taking the time (at least with crew members) to compare the name on the form with that passport and compare the face with the photo. That started about a month to six weeks ago, or at least that's when I began to notice the closer scrutiny.

As annoying and "Barney Fife" as the Customs agents' game is, it is better to play it by the rules. They LIVE to take that bullet out of their breast pocket and shoot someone, and they get triple-credit if it's a crew member.

RE: Paragraph One. You said it when you mentioned the "Barney Fifie" nature of Customs Agent game. You'd think stamping ones own form would land you in jail. However if I stamped my own form I'd be gone off the airport before the agent got back. Now it's "He Said, She Said" as to whether someone stamped their own form. With that being the case you to think like "Barney", What would you do given the situation? Answer to me is a No-Brainer and since Barney has no brains I think just closing the crew line down would seem likt the appropriate knee jerk reaction.

He said, she said?

Now, now. Don't you know that over the last decade discrete (and not so discrete) video surveillance camera installations have proliferated at 1,000% the rate of copiers?

"He said, she said"??? Really?

Do you truly believe that the international arrivals facilities are not video monitored? Did you just get off the DC-7 from Gander?

I KNOW they have video. But that would mean the someone would have to get off their dead arse and go look at it. Remember you called them Barney Fife and Barney Fife wouldn't go and review video he'd just shut it down. We're talking Government Workers here, not anyone who provides an actual service of value.
