Anthony Mule just mention a new system in PHL in OCT that they hope will improved misread of the bag tags from 35% to less than 5%. That sounds like a big step in the right direction. And this just in CACTUS is the call sign!!!!

Not that it really matters, but "Cactus" will not be the call sign. I have it from someone in the supposed "know" that we do not want to confuse our European controllers by converting all of our Intl. flights away from the familiar US Air call sign, just as we didn't when we went from US Air to US Airways. Not 100% sure but it looks like US Air will be the call sign.

During the financial report yesterday that very question came up. I can't remember who answered the question, but they said CACTUS would be the call sign. The crowd on hand, mostly pilots, responded with loud approval. I would think since DP deferred to him that this person is truly in the "know".
