Good news - Express GA giving regular updates to PAX. I've never heard the GA give many updates to PAX. Typically I call the CP line to have them trace my inbound plane for me or go to the Club

Bad news - monitors all unreliable. One set of monitors has my connection as being left already (not on the board) [and yes it was one of the all-flights boards]) one set of monitors says my connection is on time but not left yet (15 minutes after departure time). Fortunately the club monitor shows my flight being 40 minutes late - the only reliable group of monitors in the entire airport.

What's up with monitors giving different information? I understand the 'express only' monitors and the 'mainline only' monitors (which should be labelled as such and never have been) but why are 3 sets of monitors now giving 3 different sets of information? This must be ungodly confusing to the casual traveller AND cause extra employee time.

But I shan't forget - Microsoft Excel shows that they saved $100 million with Shares!
 
At PHL the airport controls the flight information monitors not the indidual carriers.
That's the answer, anything PHL can get their hands on, they f*%$ it up. Its just SOP in the City. Something like this should be well automated.

I had a niece come in the other day from California, she connected in MSP,and her flight was listed as being an hour late. Her plane turned out to be only 20 minutes late. I understand planes make up the time, but they should be aware of the ETA. She was off the plane and past by security and it still had her flight showing an hour late.

And another observation, we were sitting by Terminal E security for about 35-40 minutes, and there where people running from and to F Terminal. I would say about 20 people in all. And there is a sign over the top that reads "Electric Carts Only". How else is a person supposed to walk to F. And the Mens room was just beyond that sign. I wasn't going to get a cart to go to the restroom.lol. And to top it off there was a cart parked along side the wall, a police cart with its keys in. I would have died laughing if someone took it. And those cops on those Star Trek movers, they ought to slow the hell down, a flight that arrived and the passengers were coming out of E going to baggage claim, almost got ran over by the joker. What toys are next?
 
The problems with the television monitors in PHL has been happening since the cutover. I was trying to catch a flight out of F that was leaving in 30 minutes and it wasn't even on the board. I get over to the F terminal and it's on the board showing BOARDING. Then it cancels and it is still showing BOARDING 15 minutes later. It is screwed up. The airport may post it but the info comes from Usairways.
 
THis is so bad. Are saying that this monitor problem has been happening WEST for some time?
 
Oh boyo boyo and just WHERE do you think the airport gets that information? Does the Tooth Fairy Bring it?

I was answering the question about how different monitors could have conflicting information. I have no knowledge of how or where the airport gets it's information or how often it is updated.....it may well be the tooth fairy!
 
So are you saying that the Tooth Fairy is unreliable? :lol:
OK Guys, this is the deal..we agents in PHL hate the monitors also! They ARE run by the City of PHL and the airlines have wanted to have control over them but PHL won't give them up. It is not possible for the city to know what is going on with all the airlines therefor the monitors are not updated properly. Also, that PHL GATE they tell you to call all the time is a joke!
 
GOOD ONE PROP, THE NEXT TIME A PAX ASKS ME WHERE THEIR CONNECTION CITY IS, I WILL TELL THEM TO GO ASK THE TOOTH FAIRY !!!!!!!!!
