Tempe was certianly worried about culture. There was even a VP of culture. AWA had a more lean, more creative, more do whatever it takes attitude across the orginization.

Wile America West was trying to model it self after People Express Piedmont and USAir was on the rise into a full service airline. America West culture was to be a no frills airline
