PIT-CDG on DAL?

I... Just... cant stop..... Laughing..... This is classic mismanagement, trust - if PIT-CDG was a money maker, US would be doing it, or another airline, I am loving this....
this situation is more than likely the community requesting service, than an airline decision resuming service that was discontinued, its up to the people in the community if they will have continued international service going forward by supporting the route. apparently the city is so adamant about having international service restored they will offer incentives/subsidize to any airline offering international air service.

I applaud any airline that offers a service when it is made available(especially when a service is not offered previously at all).

CLE-CDG via a CO/757 was a seasonal service that terminated a month early due to poor load factors. And CLE is a CO hub with lotsa feed.

PIT-CDG was previously abandoned (and US had a wide body for that incremental cargo revenue too) because the numbers did not add up.

Allegheny County best start selling those 50/50 raffle tickets with the first flight.

They are going to quickly need the money to pay off another subsidy.

had a widebody been assigned to this route I probably would think it was kind of questionable, a 757 code share to an AirFrance hub seems
a little more realistic considering the stats of those traveling internationally from PIT daily, time will tell!

is there any cargo room on a 757? could they have some cargo contract that is helping support the flight? just wondering i have no idea how much cargo room if any is on a 757.

I don't know the distances on these routes, but there may be weight restrictions on them, which precludes maxing out the cargo...
