Powerball

Just think. If I were to win, I could call crew scheduling and say, "Now, please understand. I am not calling in sick. I'm calling in rich. I'm afraid I'm just too well off to work that trip."

Dunno. Wouldn't it be fun to keep showing up for work for a while, knowing full well that the fear of being fired was gone?

Dropped $90 on 30 tickets with the powerplay option. As for winning, the odds are better I'll be eaten by a T-Rex on my way to work!

If you are going to buy a ticket buy one. The odds are so astronomical that buying three is not going to increase your chances by Amy measureable amount.

By buying 30 tickets I’ve improved my chances of not winning from 99.999999430885402993688473590032% to 99.999994308854029936884735900322% LOL! I was going to spend the $90 at the casino anyway, WTH

Yeah, after watching coworkers get away with murder, i kinda want to see how far i can push the envelope before being canned. Id probably get a promotion instead.

Exactly. If you go in with your eyes wide open-and have no real expectation of recouping the $30- then why not? It's kinda fun to go through line by line to see if you've won...

Oh, absolutely! I was working at Texaco in Houston when the Texas Lottery began. One day we were sitting at lunch talking about the lottery, and would you even bother to come back and get your coffee mug from your desk if you won? One of my friends said, "Oh, not only would I come back. I would come back to work, but with major attitude." "You want me to do WHAT?" "Come in and work Saturday?" (Since we were all salaried employees, weekend work did not get you paid an extra dime.)

I look at playing the lottery as a fun way to be taxed. The government is going to get the money one way or another. And, unlike a lot of the taxes I pay, I have an infinitesimal chance of getting something back from this one--the same as the chance of winning the whole thing.

I'm sure everyone will show up at their jobs tomorrow.
Odds are correct here. STill, I bought one for myself and I put in $2 for a "group purchase" at work. Told the folks where I work that if I won, I would give all my friends a million, then we'd go to lunch at Johnny's tavern, and returning to work would be optional.

I also made the observation that if I won and put a picture of me in jeans and a t-shirt next to a picture of George Clooney, with the notation "now has half a billion in cash" under my photo, a large number of women would look at my picture and say "he's hot".
