Price Of Gas

remember Bald eagle, don't believe everything you read. You seem to quote alot from newspapers. (which in my mind is propaganda to sell papers. That's what their business is about) I myself have worked with many exploration companies and none of them paint such a bleak outlook as you keep trying to convince us. So far, I see the main players (OPEC) pushing the issue of supply and demand in order to justify in their minds the increases they throw upon us. Most of the gas price is tax, and why not, the government robs us every chance they get with any vice people have, (booze, cigaretts) the more the base price costs the more they can gouge from us, and don't forget the GST on top of the other taxes.

I'm going to cut back on my posts to drive up the demand for my controversial views. By this time next week, there will be such a demand for my 'product' that I should easily be able to have Kyle fork out a loonie every time I make a post. Cheap by any standard. Unfortunately however, the other forums will have a surcharge of 15% added since they are more 'environmentally friendly' to me...

Oh and Elvis...We'll get you a Flight Supplement that was carved from the forest with deisel guzzling forestry equipment and transported long vast distances on gravel roads to the nearest pulp mill to be mulched into the finest paper money can buy. The best thing is that the paper company uses a fleet of Volkswagon Rabbits to haul the paper to the consumer. Very efficient. 😀

Sorry I won't use the YYC thingy again

Instead I will help identify it as THE ONLY CITY IN CANADA WITH AN NHL TEAM NOT ON THE GOLF COURSE

There is that better 😛

Ok, so we know where yyc is, where is the gas price you quoted there elvis, it ain't Memphis.

And yeah so they overhaul the engines after every race, pretty common though isn't it. Even the big hemis in drags get overhauled. Probably not the diesels though, the just keep going and going and going like the engergizer bunny until it gets squashed flat by 8 liters(yes 8) of humungus horsepowered chevy doing well over our 30kmhour speed limit towing a 27 ft rv and boston whaler(legal in Alberta), with the kids watching a DVD and dad yakking on his cell phone(hands free of course). I love our free country(mind you our friggin guns are mostly registered-we think- and safely stowed away).

I having some quiet time and going to my happy place since Calgary lost to those mean, mean sharks who don't play fair, those those bad guys them.

🙁 🙁 🙁

Did you read the "technical hitch" where it states that this demand in nowhere near caused by added consumption, it is caused by large companies and countries stocking up. Why?

Skullcap

Yes I did and the reason is obvious. Because stocks were allowed to go to unprecedent low levels and now must come up again 😛
See the article below, and I quote: (such as historically low oil and petrol stockpiles in the US)

BBC, the biggest and largest broadcasting corporation of the planet, is just THE World reference for accurate and unbiased reporting of news. If you don't believe in what they say, there is noting at all left for us to believe. In this case must we rely on "word of mouth" again like 1,000 years ago ? We have to rely on something or somebody because we can't get all info we need by personal contacts.

I myself have worked with many exploration companies and none of them paint such a bleak outlook as you keep trying to convince us. So far, I see the main players (OPEC) pushing the issue of supply and demand in order to justify in their minds the increases they throw upon us.

Remember MagSeal, don't believe in everything you hear from oil companies. You seem to rely a lot in "word of mouth" from oil companies (wich in my mind is propaganda to maintain the stock prices and prevent them from falling while the mother company is facing a 40% reduction in proven oil reserves).
This means that they are pumping a lot more (60%) then what is being discovered. This state of affairs doesn't look good at all in their annual reports and the CEO's are more then eager to pump up their reserves estimates and future prospects, otherwise the stocks may tumble and the CEO's will have to find a second career in no time.

"And oil giant Shell already admitting twice this year that it has over-estimated its own oil reserves. " :blur:

😳 BBC 2004 April 20 - The world's overflowing oil reserves?

A very sobering article to think about before buying a SUV and it is better then my rant:

Just as certain as death and taxes is the knowledge that we shall one day be forced to learn to live without oil.
Exactly when that day will dawn nobody knows, but people in middle age today can probably expect to be here for it.

😳 BBC 2004 April 19 - When the last oil well runs dry

BTW today's news are no better

Global growth is underpinning prices. The price of crude oil has hit a record high in New York and gained in London as concerns about supply and security persist.

it's like the david and goliath of the oil industry...

we have david (baldeagle) and goliath (the general public).

I can see you're trying to change the world, but you aren't going to do it here. How about becoming a politician or a right wing activist and fill your boots.

Yes, the current oil wells will eventually dry up, but what about the ones they will be drilling in the future? Do you know how much area out there has yet to even be explored, let alone drilled for oil? Deep water oil rigs are becoming more and more, although the oil is found further away than normal, it's out there.
And if the world runs out of oil when I'm 80...I could care less, I won't be driving by then, I'll be a crusty old fart and let the youth of that time figure it out.

100.3/ltr this evening in cyyt.
RDM
maybe, you can put some in the trunk the next trip you're out to the Big H.

...but people in middle age today can probably expect to be here for it.

I consider myself to be modestly past middle age. I can remember back in the '70's when the same people predicting an oil peak said the oil was gonna run out by the year 2000. Right.

Well shoot, first I don't know where Elvis lives know am too pissed to look up yyt, what's the world going to? Lemmme here a a buck 20 in Normal wells?

$1.20...that's not bad.

Don't they farm the oil right across the river?

I suppose they could be burning kuwait oil up there and we're sending our oil to kuwait, at least that would explain some increased costs due to shipping.

86.9 today and for skullcap's info that is on the fringe of the "Golden Horse shoe"

That's the difference between us. I do care about what will happen as a result of our behaviour, after I am no longer in this world.

See the gasoline prices in some European countries...

Wrong , think of the one with the "horseshoe falls"
