My AA UHC medical insurance card has my Social Security number on it.

It is now scratched off, just in case I ever lose my wallet.

Hmmm, I have UnitedHealthcare, and my SS# isn't on my card. Is this something that AMR does?

Perhaps it is just AMR. Heck, maybe it is just me and the wife. But I thought it would be helpful to mention it.

I'm an AA employee and my UHC card does not have my SS number on it. UHC mailed replacement cards last year that removed the SS number.

As a side note, though, every doctor's office I go to asks for it. I try to give them a little bit of a hard time about it, saying that they should look at changing their processes to not rely on the SS. I figure if UHC took the time, effort & expense to remove it, the doctors' offices should at least attempt to change as well. If enough people bring it up, maybe we can get it changed.

Might want to look in to it, I got a new card back in December and they got rid of the SS number. The new card is gray and is just like a credit card.

All you AMT's out there that have the old style A&P license don't forget that it has you social security number on it as well. You can go to the FAA website and request a replacement that won't have your SS number on it. Not only will you no longer have your SS number on it but it's plastic so you don't have to worry about washing it on accident.

no. they were doing it but they changed it awhile back. At least for the FA cards.

When did the FAA start issuing plastic? I changed my A&P number a few years ago and got a paper one.

I recieved mine late last year so I guess they must have started sometime in 2004. Does not mean you can't ask for a replcement license however. Send in for one and they will send you the new style.

The new A&P has a nice picture commemorating the Wright Brothers.

Hey, Ken!

Let's get a movement going to have Charles Taylor on the license, too. 🙂
