Walking through an airplane the other day and noticed this in First Class.
The RTV around the entire cosmetic pane wasnt so bad but that PK screw at the 6 O'clock made me wet my pants

What would your first impression be ???????

You sure that is RTV? Hmmm, looks like something else to me ..(Hmmm, use your imagination). Additionally, the guy that was sitting there in that see evidently had a screw loose, so he needed to put it some place... WE KNOW WHY YOU FLY, - IT'S BECAUSE IT'S TO FAR TO WALK -, QUALITY FROM THE UNDERGROUND UP

My first impression? Either the person was lazy or stupid. The more I thought about it I picked stupid. That's because sealing it with RTV and then using a PK screw took some effort. A lot more effort than just taking the time to install the thing right in the first place.

We have all seen things that make you wonder "What were they THINKING?"
About three years ago I went to change the r/h landing light on a 767. A simple five minute job turned into a 1/2 hour ordeal because some genius decided to seal the cover with 1422.
