Cut the crap. Social Security should be flush with cash. The only reason it is broke is government IOU's.Just watching from the sidelines - DTSP is correct. While some of your paycheck is earmarked for social security and medicare....it's going to pay your PARENTS and their generations money. Just like your kid and my kid will have money in their paychecks earmarked for social security and medicare will go to pay for OURS. No matter how you cut it, it's pretty socialistic. Except that OUR kids most likely won't see any of the money THEY had earmarked...we will have spent it all.

Again, Social Security would be flush with cash if the government would keep their damn hands out of it.Should be, but thanks to "trickle down economics", the money from your payroll tax increase in the 80's...something that was SUPPOSED to "save" Social Security....never saw the SS fund. It went to the general fund to "prove" trickle down worked. And it doesn't change the fact that they money YOU will get will be money that SOMEONE ELSE paid in. In case you forgot....that was a republican idea...and republicans are loathe to do ANYTHING socialist....like "social" security. Geez....it's got the word in it's name.
.Again, Social Security would be flush with cash if the government would keep their damn hands out of it.
Social Security needed to be "saved" because of theft.
That is why there was a move to privatize Social Security, to keep the governments damn hands off our money.
What part of this simple concept do you not understand?
