I think both sides blinked. The dems did not get what they wanted either. And the fun part is that we get to go through this again (minus the debt ceiling I think) in about two months.

I do believe that from the coverage I have seen thus far that the TP and the GOP by association severely miscalculated public reaction. I think the TP is operating under the perception that their purpose if to fulfill the wishes of their base and that is it. They do not seem to be aware that there is an entire country out there. They do not seem to be aware or if they are they just don't care that their actions affect the rest of the party. Their actions just showed the rest of the country what the true colors of the TP are. Given the recent survey that indicates a majority of the country is moderate, I think they are going to be in for a rude awakening for the next several elections. Funding will dry up. They will not get the backing of the RNC in many cases. This may have been the swan song of the TP. Good riddance.
