The Tea Potty can get to control 1/2 of the house, but in the end, it wont make a difference, because it will push the centrist REPLUGS from NE, NY and NJ and a few from eastern PA, to join with the Dems to pass reasonable bills on a voice vote (50% +1).
A filibuster you say ? The more that SHIIT keeps on happening, the less that REPLUGS then get elected in states where they were able to barely get in. HELLL, Georgia believe it or not is exploding with hispaninic population each and every year. Sure, it wont change Georgia RED, but it will put less RELUGS from Georgia in the US House, over time.
The House is the L A S T ...B A S T I O N for replugs in my life time, and thier numbers will slowly go down, not up over a short period of time. Add in the aformentioned NE replugs with the Dems, and you've got what you just got,....a "CAVE-IN" after pissing the country off.

Cruz actually fired up his base. They do not care that they cost the economy $20B. They will give him big dollars. The problem is that the biggest donors will only support those who can actually pass legislation that favors their interest. Cruz cannot or will not do that.
That is a big reason why Rubio and Paul let him have the floor to own the debacle over the last few weeks. At the same time, he gave Boehner some street cred. The problem with that is Boehner now will be able to tell the tea party caucus to sit down and shut up. I tried it your way. Now we will do it my way.

Your waaaay to intelligent to believe that any of this SHIIT that the REPLUGS (TP or otherwise) 'pulled' is good for the GOP. They have a TERMINAL Infection, only hastened by the TP.
Will they gain strenght in the TP areas ? SURE they will,....B U T...never enough to ultimately effect a 'shoot-out at the O K corral' (Like what happened this week)

Cruz may have fired up his base but I think there are a few things that will bite him. First I am pretty sure the GNC is not too happy and may not give him the support he wants or expects. Second and more important. Busness lost money because of him. Im willing to bet business donations will shrink and money is what buys victories. I would not count on a second term if I were him.

The fact is the tea party held their ground and didn't cave. That's respectable. As more and more young Obama voters start seeing the bill for Obamacare, you can expect to see more and more eyes to open, and more people will start questioning just what they've been backing for the last six years...
