I think US wont cut any more planes.
The fact is that US NEEDS new planes, but US is also better off
compared to any other airline, because they have a more efficient fleet of A3/19/20 (not 21)
Also, when things turned around after 9-11, USAirways did not ramp up domestic operations like so many of the other carriers and thus does not have much to "pull down" operations to. We are light on international ops which will begin to change with A-330 deliveries next year. But don't see much except maybe some B-737s being parked. Can't be a whole lot and still keep continuity in the system. Figure in additional training costs as well since they go up whether you are growing or shrinking.
We just need to save as much fuel as possible.
