Way to point out the obvious, genius. You could've completed the circle by accurately noting that there are numerous points on the system where a rodent can enter an A/C (via cargo, catering truck, through an open cabin door door, and so on).

It'd be even better if you shared the FDA's concern that DL has no plan in place to prevent it from happening in the future, but I guess that's too much to expect from you at this point.

Sadly true. This OP ED should have been quelled and died earlier as all airlines are subject to rodent/arachnoid/etc... infestation. Once you open the door in another country, there are always the little critters jumping on board. Then have an overnight with doors open for maintenance, and any little critter can join the team.

IIRC UA used to encourage Ferrel cats in hangers to glean critters from aircraft. When discovered that the cats also preyed on sea gulls and 'endangered' finch, then cats were trapped and expelled from the hangers.

No cat strike helped...
