Round two SHARES problem ?

Piney Bob;

I have to totally agree with you on both points. Shares is a pathetic system. Travis Christ admitted at cutover that we were actually stepping backwards, but his hope was that a new system would be developed. the only problem is that no one has even thought about that yet. We have traded in our Cadillac for a used Yugo with the hope that someday, someone will develop a super car. Everything they do to shares is just window dressing or pimp my ride.

I thought this was about SABRE?

And just why is that? Because you keep saying it's so?

Sit is the key word. Sit on your butt and make uneducated statements and conclusions about things you have no clue about. Stick to the copiers.

Yet, it used to run the west as well as currently run CO. Yep, completely flawed. 😉
Qik is not an in house product.

Piney- get a clue.
You don't have a working knowledge about your on computer system when applied to the new USAirway. Have you been living under a rock? get a clue.....

West ops will go to SABRE sometime in the future. Training was stopped recently because of a problem in the interface between Shares and SABRE which has been showing up as W/B not being received. There are a bunch of other smaller problems. Implementation date TBD once the problems are corrected.

As to QIK, HP/US bought the QIK program and now does its own programing on it. So, while it is not an in-house developed program, it is now an in-house modified one. This was done to speed up the changes that HP/US want to implement.

Not the case at all. I just called the CP desk to check status of my flight home and I asked for the status of the flight that made up my flight and I was told "We can't do that anymore". Whether that's true or not is immaterial as the CP Angel believes it to be true which means that either she is wrong or the sytem no longer has that function. I say it's so because I have to e-mail my 3rd party generated corp travel agency's Itinerary to someone in the executive office so that I can check on line. I also have now 56 PDF files of web errors. Do I need to get to an even 60 for my say so to count with you.

No Clue? It's a legacy Computer application dating back to System 1 which belonged to Eastern if Memory serves. Perhaps you'd like to discuss IPDS printing, or AFP from IBM. Or perhaps share the fact that the reason for many of the core issues go to the fact that Apollo, SABRE & SHARES core systems date back to the 1960's in some cases, just as the hardware and software does. These types of systems don't always paly well in the sandbox with the Windows children although every other airline website seems to function flawlessly in comparison. YET another example of knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing.

.
Sometimes when you scale up a system it reveals flaws that weren't apparent prior. That apparently is what's happening. I have the ONLY clue I need. That clue is that on EVERY reservation I have to interact on with a US employee whereas on Midwest and UA that is not the case.

NEXT Passenger in line Please

Piney,

Interesting.

On one hand, we have someone who believes that if a process works for X number of aircraft then is should work fine with 2 times X aircraft, therefore, any problems are imaginary or the users fault.

On the other hand, we have you, and I, who look at the results to determine effectiveness, thumbs down in this case.

It reminds me of the engineer who stated that "it should fly" just prior to hitting the ground. A total disconnect between the managers and reality. It almost seems to be the US mission statement.
