I saw this am. You are correct, the liberal media is having a hard time defending Obama except they still try. Its like an OCD for them.

Are you arguing that the US was not justified in being outraged at the Iraq war? That the numerous changing reasons for going into Iraq were justified? Are you arguing that Bush did a great job in Afghan and Iraq? Are you saying the economy was in great shape in 2008 when the economy started to take a turn foe the worse and we all knew it was going to hit hard?

Our economy has not been 'chugging along' for decades. Sputtering on fumes perhaps but not chugging.

No im arguing that the liberal media is still relevant despite your assertion that it is not. It just doesn't fit your narrative. If there was a republican in office right now the liberal media would be on a 24/7 meltdown and you would most likely agree with it 100%.

Face it, far more people had better lives under Bush administration and now people are suffering now under a liberal democrat as president.

Not really. Bush along with his predecessors started on this path. We would be in this boat regardless of who was in office because the decisions were limited and Obama IMO made the best one possible even though it sucks. Bush took away rights with the Patriot act and involved us in two wars that never should have been waged. We are hardly in a better position because of him. We are in a far worse position than we wold have been had he not spent trillions on useless wars and instead tried to prevent us from going over the edge. Unfortunately that does not work with your narrative of blame it all on just the Dems. The republican hands are just as dirty.

And Obama has expanded on the Patriot act and Started a third war in Libya.

Im sorry but you are wrong. According to others Obama has spent more in a few short years then the previous 43 combined.

You are wasting your breath with furball. Only a liberal will think that 2.4 Million fewer Americans working now than when Obama signed the economic stimulus is a good thing.

Extended not expanded. There are not troops in Libya. Big difference. Also, Libya cost just a little less.

I never said the deficit did not increase. Funny how Regan nearly doubled the deficit and hardly a peep. Bush Jr added I believe 5 or 6 trillion and hardly a peep. OH yea, according to Cheney deficits don't matter (except when a democrat is in power). Another case of when your guy does it it's bad but when my guy does it it's OK.

Like I said, the republicans hands are just as dirty as the dems.

NPR: “President Obama said Wednesday it was ‘absolutely’ out of the question that U.S. ground forces would be used in Libya.”

How would the president describe the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit? There is no such thing as a purely air-based combat mission; planes have problems and pilots end up on the ground, and then U.S. forces have to end up on the ground, hopefully briefly, to rescue them and bring them home safely. Ask Scott O’Grady how much time you can spend on the ground while patrolling a no-fly zone. 😱

Details on the recent rescue:

The Kearsarge then sent up two MV-22 Ospreys carrying Marine rescue teams. As they were en route, the Harriers dropped two laser-guided bombs near the crash site, apparently to keep Libyans on the ground from approaching the pilot.

With additional helicopters hovering overhead for security, one of the Ospreys landed and picked up the pilot. He was then taken aboard the Kearsarge.

The weapons systems officer was recovered by what U.S. officials described as Libyan opposition forces. He is safe, officials have said.

Duh....

“Keynesian economics

has failed”

Some refreshing words from the Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner this morning on Meet the Press. He had this to say:(15:20 into this clip)

We don’t have the ability (because of the overhang in housing and the problems in the financial sector) to engineer a stronger recovery.

Imagine that! Geithner acknowledges what I (and many others) have felt all along. The structural issues in the economy trump the government’s ability to engineer a recovery.

The Fed has taken extraordinary measures on the monetary front. Since 2009 we have had $1.2 trillion of fiscal stimulus measures as well. We have had TARP and the bailouts of Fannie and Freddie. But the evidence is clear that it has not worked. Unemployment is today near a record and the more important measure, U6, is at 16.2% (about where it was a year ago) Nothing that has been done has moved the needle.

Boots in country. BTW, we got advisers there on the ground..... 😛

Boots are on the ground. http://www.chicagonow.com/publius-forum/2011/03/2200-marines-go-to-libya-what-happened-to-no-boots-on-the-ground.

Interesting admission, im wondering how much hell he's going to take for that.

You are considering a rescue mission as troops on the ground?

Let's walk through this.

How many pilots would need the marines to rescue them if we were NOT engaged in an act of military aggression against a sovereign state? I'm thinking the number would be ZERO!

So following that logic how many troops would be "In Country" for any reason?

If we're conducting a bombing operation I have to believe we have CIA and Black ops types there for Fire Control. Which brings us back full circle to the first point.

Interesting how FOX is dealing with the dirt in their own closet. If you go to their site, there is nothing about the scandal on the main page. You need to dig down to world events to get any info and even they, Murdochs name is not even mentioned in the titles.

This whole thing begs the question of how you bribe law enforcement and hack into over 5,000 phones without corporate knowing what is going on? It also seems to beg the question of if this is going on here in the states and what all the other media out lets are doing to get a scoop on the news or what ever it is that they call news.

I wonder if having to buy back $5 billion of their own stock stung? That has to leave a bit of a mark. It went from about $18,50 down to $15.40 on the 18th. The buy back is the only thing that caused the bump to $16 today. I loved seeing that arrogant prick squirm on TV. May be the same thing will happen to Sorros. I wonder if we can get that lucky.

Maybe with some luck we can go back to the gov't controlled news channels on the big four if Fox goes down.

Hey,WTF.....you just can't trust those non Pravda approved channels any more.

You had Fox as the government controlled news channel for eight years. It is still party controlled and Clear Channel is like Radio Moscow.
