Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan has announced that the Town of Islip has entered into talks with Ryanair about coming to ISP. No real details in the article, but it's apparently official. Nolan says flights could begin as soon as next spring. I wonder if anything is actually going to come of this.

Ryanair in negotiations with ISP

I can't believe they're actually willing to put in customs and immigration facilities at ISP.

You couldn't pay me to shlep my way on the LIRR for two and-a-half hours before or after getting on a RyanAtlantic (787? XWB?).

But of course, I'm sure there'll bargain hunters out there who'll be more than willing, and then subsequently complain about how travel just keeps getting more and more frustrating with each passing year.

If approved, Ryanair will fly ETOPS-rated 737-800s to ISP from the UK. Flyglobespan has been flying their 737-800s to JFK for some time now.
