You guys just dont get it do you, we understand that it is simple, if you are that unhappy where you work for that unhappy with the company you work for QUIT and get another job, its called AMERICA oh wait a second, you did quit your job you are just having trouble with the find a new job part.  I beg for nothing where as AMFA seems to be doing alot of begging these days, requesting strike fund donations, selling cheap junk buttons ect ect.  Who is doing the begging???

Dufus, I mean OPUS

By reading your post I would guess that you have never worked for a company like NWA. Do you understand that these men and women have taken alot from this company? Pay cut after pay cut, lay off after lay off, when does it end?? When do you get sick and tired and take a stand. Look at it this way, what kind of message would it have sent the industry if AMFA accepted the offer NWA proposed. I think it would be an insult to the industry if they accepted any offer. It would be a blow to the craft. Another blow to the craft is all of the low life scabs accepting all the struck work. I really hope that it comes back and bites all of you in the ass. I pray that one day you to are in the same situation as the striking mechanics. I bet that you will because Karma is a B-tch.

I wish all the worst for people like you.
Enjoy Scabing!!!!!!!

P.S. You should take the bonus money you received and invest in some sort of grammar class. It would make it easier for other members of this forum to be able to understand the meaningless points you are trying to get across.

JetFixer, that's what is so amazing! You let a company crap on you year in and year out. Most normal individuals would go find a better opportunity with a company that treats its employees with respect and actually values their employees contributions to the organization. But no, lets whine about it on a chat and change the union that represents us because they aren't representing us. It seems that everyone thinks it is there God given right to work at NW, AA, US, UA as a mechanic and make 70K...please.

Oh, perhaps the class would be of benefit to you because it is grammar not grammer.

I believe that this strike is not just for the airline industry, it is for all industries.
And it's scum like you that bring down the craft. Are you an A & P mechanic. I don't think you are. As A&P mechanics, you don't think we a worth 70K a year. What makes a pilot worth his or her salary. Answer those questions.

Oh, I believe GRAMMAR is spelled correctly.

Individuals determine their own worth you decide what you are willing to work for B) as A&P Mechanics we are not all making the same money the same is true of all professions.

Are you an A & P mechanic - no I choose to be in command of my own destiny and not let others determine what is good and not good for me.

What makes a pilot worth his or her salary - the pilots earn every penny they make. They put their life on the line every day. With cost cutting managment and disgruntled maintenance staff they are the final line of defense for the flying public. I think the pilots should get a big raise when all this is done which is what they probably are negotiation with NW once BK is over.

Flight Attendants - I think they could make more waitressing at the local Applebees. Not sure why they aren't on the line with you guys.

Wouldnt that same train of thought apply to a bus driver as well?
How can you be in command of your own destiny when you depend on someone else to put food on the table? Just thought I'd ask <shrug>

Do you really think pilots fly the aircraft???Silly rabbit!! As soon as they get the wheels off the ground they switch the autopilot on. And who maintains the autopilot??You guessed it, the mechanic. I shouldn't even respond to the statement you made but people like you make me boil. Everything that keeps that aircraft airborne is maintained by mechanics. In very rare cases where both autopilots are MEL'd`, the pilot actually hand flys the aircraft. But there are some cases where the pilot will not take the aircraft without them. Alot of them are OVERPAID BUS DRIVERS.

Hey I heard the replacement mechanics are going to start a new union
1. Going to call it AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR AVIATION BETTERMENT=SCAB
2. Slogan-If you want it done right and you want it done fast call a SCAB!!!
3. NO DUES
4. Every SCAB member decides where they work and they decide if they want to stay or not, that way there will be no whinning about being treated like garbage for 20+ years
5. DECIDE YOUR OWN DESTINY AND JOIN THE SCAB UNION
hehehehe thought that was priceless

Hey Opus where's Mrs. Opus? On the picket line with real men?

Wouldnt that same train of thought apply to a bus driver as well? No it wouldn't because I've learned on this website that planes cannot just pull over to the curb or stop like trains and buses can.

Do Pilots actually fly? You mean its true that the copilot is a dog whose only responsibility is to bite the pilot if he touches the controls?

Jetfixer, what I meant to say was that I would not want anyone negotiating my annual pay raise besides myself.

Jetfixer, also from a previous post of yours "...By reading your post I would guess that you have never worked for a company like NWA. Do you understand that these men and women have taken alot from this company? Pay cut after pay cut, lay off after lay off, when does it end??..."

That is right, in the 10 years I've been out of school I never have worked for a company as crappy as NW, US, UA, AA...et al. nor would I ever consider working for one.

With everyone stating that they could make more money going off and doing something else or starting their own business why haven't they flocked away from the industry in the 1,000s and instead of waiting to be furloughed? Yet they work on hoping in 15 years that maybe they might be able to work dayshift and have enough seniority to get a holiday off?

Do you think it is going to change? It is one of the most pathetically managed industries bar none I will agree. It also an industry that has the most malcontent employees bar none.

My sincerest hopes in this strike is that all AMFA mechs from NW to a man walk away from the company for greener pastures and let the deal with what they've created. Let them have to relocate their dream team to the dregs of detroit, minneapolis and duluth. Let them deal with their mistakes and subsequent FAA investigatins.

But sadly they won't, they'll go back 1,080 of them, make less than they did a few weeks ago, be a bit more bitter about doing it. God that would be a sad life to live.

Another really sad part is that NW most likely made the last offer so pitiful that they and Dell can make some type of negotiations to let union leadership say they saved something.

I'm thinking it will be more like 1900 to 2000 mechs called back because if it weren't for the union - the industry might be forced to change there ways.

Northwest would be fools to accept AMFA mechanics back if AMFA is going to represent them. Also most of the scabs that would roll over will not do so if they have to pay union dues. The whole concept here was for Northwest to rid its self of AMFA. Why do you think they will allow AMFA back in the door?

So I guess if the AMFA mechanic would beg for the IAM's forgivness and promise to never strike again, take the last best offer, throw themselves under the bus at NWA's mercy all would be right huh? Dude you really need meds!!!!!!!
