That is not what I meant. The problem with unions is that there are too many of them. A union’s power lies with its members but its shear number of members. The unions’ most powerful weapon is the strike. If you can't bring a company to a halt with a strike your union is in effect worthless. If there was a union that represented the pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, baggage handlers and ground support, hell throw the controllers in there too. Now you have an effective union that can really support its members. The unions have divided themselves to the point they have no bargaining power.

You know I noticed that there are not that many Northwest Mechanics on this Northwest site it is mostly AA Mechanics and scabs I mean replacement workers sorry PTO I don't want to get into the name calling thing, I think the reason for this is that the Northwest Mechanics are very concerned about putting food on the table they have better things to do than armchair qaurterback like us AA guys and replacement workers who are getting our pay checks every week.
Strikes are a very serious matter I have never been on one and probably never will but I can imagine how I would feel if I were. Nervous :unsure:
And I am a very educated person A&P ticket, 2 Fcc license's, associate degree, Pilots license, computer technician. etc. I would like to think it would not be to hard to get another decent job, but who knows for sure there are alot of other highly trained people around as well.

It is getting to the point that a four year college degree carries the same weight as a high school diploma.

I can't wait till AA's contract is up. I hope they pull the samething as Northwest. I'll be there. Those guys will get theirs.
Sounds like a wonderful life!!! Get a small motor home and you don't even have to leave the hanger lot!! One job location after another!!! Great life for a single guy, its the married ones I worry about. Have seen it first hand, relationships do not last very long, unfortunately its the kids that suffer! Some just put money ahead of everything.

Thats cool Raptor, I'm not after anyones job I just like busting unions. These guys here are so pro-union its unreal. I would just like to see them marcing in a circle like the Northwest guys. I think the Northwest guys got screwed by the union and these guys keep cheering AMFA on. I'd like to either see them in Northwest AMT's shoes or see if they cave-in to concessions and become cowards for it.

I know how this is going to turn out and I have to say I don't want any part of it in any Union, I work for AA for the cash to take care of my family nothing more, everything else is just BS
