Sen Bayh (D) Indiana not seeking re-election

Pretty hilarious all these liberals running for the hills with their tails between their legs!
So 5 Senate Democrats have announced their retirement or have chosen not to run and that means "all these liberals are running for the hills"?

What do you call the 6 Senate Republicans that are doing the same thing?

Republicans will be forced to defend six seats in the midterm elections. Sens. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Kit Bond of Missouri, Jim Bunning of Kentucky, George Voinovich of Ohio and Sam Brownback of Kansas are all retiring at the end of the year.

'tech2101'

I'd like to answer your question posed to airbud, if I may.

(to airbud, and his like) It doesn't matter !
They (obviously from his statement) Don't see it as "counting" in the big picture.
Kind of like Fox News...fair and balanced

Since the D's lost Kennedy's seat, all that matters for the time being, is keeping a simple Majority, which they will. Then they (maybe) will Filibuster EVERYTHING "on Earth", and we can see how they like it !

In a sense, Bayh's retirement since brown is pretty meaningless. But alas, some can't decipher that brand of "tea leaves".

You didn't see his press conference this afternoon, now did you? I won't interpret it, find it for yourself.
You and your ilk just amaze me  As YOU stated: Keep a simple majority, which they will.... .... and then they can fillibuster EVERYTHING.......

With that thinking, therein lies the problem. All you and your ilk are worried about is "staying in power"....Yes....Yes, the argument can be made for the Repubs as well. Everyone knows that. The difference is how the two sides want to govern, which I will not digress here as that subject has been bantered on this forum for years.

Just remember......Be prepared to get "Tea-Bagged" Joanne

GOOD DAY!!

Here's a different take on the 5 Democrats and 6 Republicans sho have decided NOT to stand for re-election.

Politics and Poker have a lot more in common then beginning with the letter "P"!

As a popular song tells us, "You have to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em"

I'd argue that good, bad of indifferent the electorate is riled up. Between the recession, massive federal debt, military incursions on foreign soil that seem to never end and a health care reform plan that no one is willing to get behind anymore you've got a whole pile of hissed off people looking for incumbent blood and the way I see it this is the one truly bipartisan effort in the country.

One way or another 11% of the Senate will turnover and fresh blood will arrive. The 11 who chose not to run have decided that it's time to Walk/Run from the Political/Poker table, Cash in their chips and leverage their connections for personal gain.

With the "Tea Party" Movement and some pretty dark economic realities going forward I expect this trend to continue through the next 10 years. Between the age of many and the growing disatisfaction I think most of the current Congress will have turned over by 2020.

Wise words as always "Sparrow"

Its easy to agree to disagree with you on some points.
When That happens, for me, I don't feel like I've been in a "discussion" with Rush Limbaugh because your opinions always contain a degree of level-headedness !

Lobbyists?

Hey Dell, meant to ask you if thats a picture of you on your recent .......imposed..........vacation from the boards ?

On topic: The Democratic Reich is crumbling and the rats are scurrying, as we speak !

So what do you call the 6 Republicans, if the 5 Dem's are rats?

Actually........it looks like they are identifying with what Bayh laid on the table...or did you fail to notice that?

Your Progressive party is selling goods and socialist direction the majority of the country are radically not in support of.

Suddenly Obama appearing in support of candidates running for re-election has the same effect of Bush.....

Change we can believe in....... :mf_boff:

I will ask you again; why are the Republicans doing the same thing in larger numbers?

Just answer the question.
