I was getting quite a giggle out of the "USAir USAV Beach Bash" thread when the moderator decided to close it. It was a fun thread, God forbid.

So, how about a philosophical discussion of what purpose ANY of these threads serve?

I'm beginning to think it's all about an ego-stroke for the moderators to whip out their tin badges and flaunt their considerable importance.

Did Barney Fife have sons? Edward? Richard?

Are you now going to get your bullet out of your shirt pocket for me, and cart me off to be Otis Campbell's cell mate for a month?

In most major Forums, bashing Moderators is a big No, No. In any event, my take on the value of this Forum is quite simple - it usually contains very little accurate data on the company's future plans or current condition, although occasionally (rarely) something reasonably correct is posted. It appears to me the major purposes and benefit of this medium are that it psychologically projects some individuals to a temporary, but higher plane than they would normally attain, and most of all it is a major relief valve for the chronic complainers of the US Airways world. An enlightening fact (to me anyway) from several posters is that some Flight Attendants are obviously more sophisticated and intelligent than one may typically have thought and are apparently quite overqualified for thier job. These are my personal opinions only and based solely on my observations from what has been posted on this board.

Guess what folks? In THIS forum, bashing moderators is a big no no.

When a moderator makes a call that you happen to dislike or disagree with, calling him or her out in public, or insulting them in public, is just NOT the way to go. Had the OP PM'ed one of us to ask us to reconsider, we might have reconsidered it, but based on the first post in this thread, someone has time off, and the other thread remains closed.

Folks, we're human too--we have reversed ourselves on occasion as well--but to call us out like this is unacceptable and will NOT be tolerated.

That said, this thread is now closed as well....
