I'm planning a 4th of July trip from MSP to MCO and AirTran was $137 per person. I was just wondering if anyone had anything to say on these guys.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Newer airplanes, decent service and usually on time if the weather or ATC isn't screwing up everything. I flew them yesterday from SEA to ATL. No complaints here....

Yeah, Air Tran is great. You should fly them.

I work for one of the majors. I purchased a ticket on ATA last Sept. to fly PHL-FLL.

Crew's were great, a/c clean, I'd fly 'em again any time!

Do you mean ATA, as in American Trans Air or AirTran Airways? There is a difference, 2 different Airlines.

I'll have to keep Air Tran in mind when I fly home from Kent during spring break. FOr Thanksgiving I'm flying American Eagle and at Christmas Continental. It seems Air Tran does not fly out of Cleveland-Hopkins Intl. You can either fly out of Akron-Canton or what they call Cleveland Area...not sure what that is.

I'm from New Jersey, so I'll have to see once I'm out there.

I can't recall where Kent is, closer to CAK or DAY. Either one will get you on a FL Flight. CAK has been an excellent choice to avoid the hassles of CLE. PIT may be an option as well, but as I said, I'm not sure of your location and I'm too darn lazy to Google a Map. Now I have to ask.... Spring Break in July???

Spring Break is not until next April...just planning ahead a bit. Won't be buying the Spring Break tickets until December. I just got done buying the tickets for Thanksgiving and Christmas about two weeks ago. Flights fill up pretty quick around those times.

Kent is about 45 minutes East of Cleveland, much closer to Akron. CAK would be better for me in the future. CLE is going to be hell this November...fly out on the 22nd.

CAK will be great for you then. Parking is free IIRC, short lines and very convienent. If I were you, I'd sign-up for the AirTran web deals on their website so you can maybe catch a sale and save even more $$$. That gives you more $$$ for Beer on Springbreak
