I've come to the conclusion that there is nothing more that I can say that will change the minds of those involved in the US east/west integration. There may be a solution out there, but it won't be found in the back-biting exchanges that go on here in lieu of reasonable discussion and respect for different opinions. What is grown here is a deepening animosity towards entire groups of people that only serves to further divide a bitterly and unecessarily divided workforce, and I refuse to be part of that anymore. I have discovered that my posts and responses have painted a far different picture of the man I know I am, and in order to reconcile that, I have decided after 5 years to indefinitely suspend my participation in US Aviation.

Good luck as well as best wishes Luvn.

Oh good grief - lighten up - it is only a web page afterall where some people go to have fun - some people read for comic relief - and some people post things they are serious about - but at the end of the day if you take this board as seriously as your post indicates that is a bit sad.

I have to agree. I participate in a couple of other message boards also unrelated to aviation, and it is nothing like this. People disagree, banter, rant and rave, and even occasionally call each other a selective "PG 13" name or two. Mostly they discuss topics of interest and share ideaas, and I never see the venom and attacks of people for differing opinions. The hostility never reaches the heights that it does here.

This place is dominated by a handful of people with no tolerance for objectivity.

I enjoy reading here, especially on days when I begin to long for the "good ol' days". Fifteen minutes of reading the USAirways forum and I feel much better. Glad that place was in my past life. Best of luck to all still there.

I have been reading your posts for a long time and have wondered about the man behind the curtain. This post of yours is full of insight that changes my view of you as a man. The vagaries of forums where disputes reign supreme is that there are bound to be opinions formed about posters that don't come near the truth of that poster. Yours is a case in point. I have found your posts to be precisely what you don't want them to be.

Can't you stay and modify the things you write so as to not piss people off to the max? Not that you have to change your views but as that old saying goes about catching flies with honey and not vinegar......? The exchange of ideas even if one doesn't agree with some posters' points of view is something I think is valuable to all.

At any given time, "it is what it is" and that can't be changed until it changes. USAPA was born of decades of ALPA abuse of its own members. Something had to give and the time was right and ripe.

USAPA is now the legal bargaining agent for all USAir pilots and to fight that is pointless.

As for me, I don't like the huge black hairy mole on my nose. What to do? Accept it, Dremel it off, revel in its existence? Or just ignore it? Actually I think it is time for le mole to go, just as it was ALPO's time to go. Two large black hairy moles, RIP.

I come here because I learn here. You are part of that learning curve. Go in peace and have a good life.

Perhaps you will return with a slightly different way of expressing yourself. I hope so.

As someone who is totally uninvolved in this fight, but very interested in the industry, I have to say that your post just proved the OP's argument. You may think that you just posted something reasonable and rational. But to someone on the other side, your words are rather inflammatory. Essentially you are saying "our grievances caused us to take drastic action because we were right and so now you should just calm down and forget about your grievances because we have made the decision for you." (Indeed, your statement is the moral equivalent of "Nicolau decided -- deal with it and stop complaining.") You could have said, "we have legitimate disagreements and should debate them respectfully and peacefully."

The nastiness and vitriol in that discussion have come from both sides.

Geez Louise! You misunderstood everything I wrote.  The one thing I agree with you is "we have legitimate disagreements and should debate them respectfully and peacefully." You have written above what I did not, nor did I intend to inflame anything. I was merely bidding LVN adieu.

Arguing over the existence of USAPA is nuts. It exists and I think that's a good thing. That is MY opinion. Obviously it was the opinion of the majority of the pilots who voted USAPA as their representing entity. What is wrong with that statement? "It is what it is."

I'm sorry if I offended you; no offense was intended. 🙂

In all seriousness, good luck. If you ever find yourself on an east 73, stick your head in the door and say hello. Better yet, you're welcome on the JS. Take Care.

Much the same for me..although the aircraft may vary. As for the jumpseat? = Any/All west folk are always welcome, regardless of how enthusiastically, or even how much all can argue on these boards.

I myself never thought I'd say it but I think I'm one step away from leaving here as well. I may occasionally pop in and read a few posts but there is NOTHING good coming from this board. If I need an outlet to release my frustration of (MANAGEMENT READ HERE) this moronic management team running the WORST airline in the business I'll talk to my cat or better yet yell at myself in the mirror. I think I'm gonna at least shy away from here as NOTHING positive comes from ANYTHING. It consumes your day/evening with banter.... I have enough going on at home to worry about anything else. When my partner looks over my shoulder and says, "your on that thing AGAIN"....somethings wrong. Have at it folks.
