You know you are right I went back and reviewed the conversation. I never responded. I could have sworn I did. Maybe I failed to send it properly or maybe I never typed it up at all. I was having severe issues with focus and memory during the early part of my recovery. I apologize I did not respond, I assure you I had intent to. At any rate I will take this opportunity now, late as it is, to say thank you for the message and kind words.
I don't think we are adversaries, I think we just have very different ideals on how our country should move forward and sometimes our passion for our viewpoint causes friction. I don't think just because your viewpoint is different you are a bad person, just misaligned. Of course, I am sure you an many others on here say the same thing about me.
For instance I don't think you are a bad person just because you support socialism, but from my point of view socialism only ever has one conclusion, eventual economic failure, so I can't really comprehend why you would support it.
Same thing with single payer healthcare. Every nation without exception (that I know of if you find different let me know) with single payer healthcare has suffered much higher taxes, ever increasing lack of access, and budget cuts. Why would you want that? Even Sweden's single healthcare is starting to implode. There is a reason wealthy people come to THIS country for healthcare.
Another is the border. I am of the belief that if you don't have a border you cease to have a country. Citizenship has value. The left states the right is against immigration (most like to say it is racial despite many illegal immigrants being Caucasian). That is simply not true. What the right is against is UNCONTROLLED immigration, especially given our generous welfare system (which believe me, illegals take advantage of). Illegal immigration has a lot of negative impact on our society so why the left would support illegals is incomprehensible. From my perspective maybe immigration does need reform but we damn sure should not tolerate the violation of our borders.
Another thing I find incomprehensible is the left states the government is fundamentally flawed (the new buzzword is "Institutional Racism") yet they want to give them more and more power (like over healthcare for instance). Why?
