Personally, I agree with the sentiment of Bush et al. I do not thing it is the place for Congressional reps to be negotiating with foreign powers. These 'fact finding' trips they go on seem to be more photo op and publicity than anything else.
The problem I see is that if the White House is going to say something like that, they either need to be aware that some of their own boys are over there doing the same damn thing or they need to just shut up and not embarrass them selves.
