AA is speeding up its schedule for recalling furloughed pilots.

The APA, which represents American's pilots, said it learned Wednesday that the carrier will recall 30 furloughed pilots in April, up from about 11 in January, 10 in February and 20 in March.

Is it due to increased need or low recall acceptance rate?

It's a training capacity issue. As more instructor captains come on line they can handle larger classes.

The acceptance rate only affects how many calls must be made to fill the classes.
